Perhaps it's complacency, that these or normal, or that this is happening around the same time as the Roger Stone revelation or the World Cup, but part of me wonders if this one will get...maybe not ignored, but overlooked.

I'm thankful that with 22 people hit only 1 passed and that was one of the shooters. Although a 13 year old boy is in critical condition.

I had read that there was a fairly heavy police presence here but these guys chose to shoot it out anyway.

They mentioned a carjacking, sounds like it was probably criminal related (whether gangs or just individual feuding lowlives) rather than the usual looneywackadoodle.

It was a dispute between two men using handguns, not a random mass shooting. They happened to be reckless enough to shoot it out in a crowd of people. Same type of violence that happens in some areas of the U.S. every weekend.

I'm sure once they realized this was a story about street crime with the victims (most likely) being of color and low income as opposed to random mass shooting they stopped caring.

Also, the governor's response was just awful, tweeting about gun control as if it any law would have stopped these criminals. Also ignoring the fact one of the shooters was released from prison early even after a manslaughter conviction.
