3 Red Lights on the XBOX360....Help

I just got the system, the Premium one. It worked for like 5 minutes. I put in the Tomb Raider demo, i selected to play the demo, and than, the whole system FREEZES????

I off the system, turned it back on, and i see 3 red lights on the console. Now, i went to the Microsoft.com help and they have the solutions, and i did them all, but it's still doing those red lights. Anybody have this problem if so, what do i do?

was this the glitch that was going on with these systems when it first came out?
 
Thats a hardware failure. You can either call M$ for a replacement (takes a few weeks) or just take it back to the place o purchace for a new one.
 
damn. Now, how can that happen though ??? I dont' want to buy that 2 year warrenty thing either.

How do i know whether i got the old version of the 360 that has the glitch?
 
The standard warrany covers it, plus stores usually offer replacement on faulty goods within the first month or so.

You just got one of the dodgy consoles. It could be any number of things that us causing the failure.

the back of the console has a date of 5/6/2006, so it's not the old version i believe.

Now, i don't connect the console directly to the TV becaues my TV is old and doesn't have the red/white/yellow sockets, so i connect it to the VCR, which is what i do with my Gamecube as well. could that be the cause?
 
It's just a hardware failure. Only thing that would be something you would've caused might be if you didn't allow space around it for venting.

But it's probably nothing you did. Just an unfortunate hardware failure.

But yeah, just take it back to where you got it, explain the failure, and they should switch it out for a new one.

Or call 800-4MY-XBOX and they'll have you ship it to them, and they'll send you a replacement themselves.
 
plan to today. Haha, i just got this yesterday, and it went hardware failure within the first 5 minutes. At least it happen within the 30 day return policy of BEst Buy. But, for this 800-4MY-XBOX , do i need a warrenty for that or is that open for me forever?
 
It's the number for Microsoft's XBOX Phone Support. The manufacture's warrenty lasts for the first 3 months, I believe. Anything after that, you better hope you have a warrenty.

Sure, some XBOX 360s are failing like this. It's an unfortunate reality of new technology, no matter who makes it. What's great is the way Microsoft handles the problems. They're awesome.

I thought you got your 360 through one of those internet scam sites? One of those "Punch the Monkey" banners.
 
Don´t lie about Best Buy. YOu wouldn´t spend a dollar. This is what happens when you support the free merchandise stuff online...*******
