Anyone heard the new album "This is War"? It just came out today.
I've already listened to it, and it's incredible.
I love the whole album, but my fave's are "Kings and Queens", "This is War", "A Call to Arms (or Vox Populi, i'm not sure of the real title)", and "Closer to the Edge"
The whole album has a very cinematic feel, and the title song is featured in the end credits of Dragon Age: Origins, and I think it fits the game perfectly, as would a Call to Arms.

I haven't picked up the album yet, but I haven't been able to get "Kings and Queens" out of my head since I heard it! I love it, and I can't wait to hear the rest!

I love 30 Seconds To Mars! I haven't gotten the new album yet though.

Why did they get rid off Kanye West? They had him on Hurricane and it was awesome.

I've heard both versions, and I like the Kanye-less one more.
They're probably trying to avoid him, like everyone else is.:o

No... the real reason why I think they took Kanye out was because it was a publicity stunt. They have this big name rapper in their song, they could sell it to a new audience.
The whole T. Swift stunt has hurt his credibility as a rapper and an artist, and I think the band realized it could have a negative and off-put fans from their music.
I would have been more excited for a Lady Gaga or Brandon Flowers cameo, because apparently the three of them are good friends. Brandon Flowers was even there when Hurricane was recorded. I would have been much more excited if he was in the song.

I didn't the Hurricane was a bad song with Kanye in it, I actually found it REALLY good, but I find the one without Kanye to be even better. Having Kanye there took me out of the experience of the album, I felt.

Major bump, but up until know I've only listened to Kings and Queens (which was awesome), but the rest of the songs I've just listened to have been great.

How did I not see this thread when it was originally made?

30STM is one of my favorite bands out there. Their debut was pretty good. 'A Beautiful Lie' was even better. 'This Is War' is pretty strong as well. Really like "Night of the Hunter" and "Closer to the Edge" on the new album. "Kings & Queens" has kinda fallen out of favor with me since it seems to be attached to every other movie trailer/commercial I come across, but it's not a bad track.

Also saw the guys in April. Go see them if you haven't done so already.

I've been listening to their new CD since it came out, I love every song, it's just one of those CD's that every song is pretty awesome.

I seriously don't see the appeal of this band. Every song sounds exactly the same, stop with child choir already.

This song/video...

The 'profound' statements in this video are a complete joke.

Can't see the video because it looks to be blocked, but the whole "child choir" (although unnecessarily forced into a lot of the songs on their latest album) was a way to include their fans in on the recording process of "This Is War". They literally just randomly told people who were going to be in such & such area on such & such date to meet up at such & such place. The ones that did show up were recorded as part of the aforementioned choir and placed on every track on the new album. Like I said, it doesn't quite work for every song and when I realized that was the case, I kinda rolled my eyes, but it's still pretty cool nonetheless. You don't see musicians do something like that for their fans often, if ever.
