I think he gave more of an effort in Cowboys and Aliens than anyone else involved. Indy 4, as well. It's amazing that he could keep in shape approaching 70, enough to play the role, and the most powerful filmmakers in Hollywood couldn't come up with a script strong enough to support him. It's a shame.
He's playing a bad guy in his next movie "Paranoia", opposite Gary Oldman as the good guy. It's like "Air Force One" reversed! That, possibly playing Han Solo again, "Anchorman 2", an older Wyatt Earp in "Black Hats".
"42" though is probably the biggest risk on-screen he's taken since "Mosquito Coast". It's a really exciting time to be a fan...
