Got this from ahh.com Apparently this was originally supposed to be a vehicle for james gandolfini and deniro.

Rapper 50 Cent and Robert De Niro are in negotiations to co-star in the police thriller, New Orleans.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie is set against the backdrop of Hurricane Katrina.

New Orleans centers on a police officer who thought his partner was killed by Hurricane Katrina, but soon discovers he was actually shot.

50 Cent will play De Niro's new partner and as they investigate the murder, a world of police corruption is uncovered.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the project was originally set in Los Angeles, but was moved to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city.

Production is slated to begin in New Orleans in February.

Isn't 50 Cent's 15 minutes of talentless fame and overhype done? I figured people would have caught on by now that the man has zero abilities and skills, other than being a bullet magnet. His last movie was a critical and financial bomb so keep the loser away from movies. (Hell keep him away from anything as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. I had thought he'd faded out by now, but alas... And with someone like DeNiro? What the hell?

Im no fan but wishing death on him because you dont like his music is ******ed. I dont know why but white comic book fans and white genre fans in general seem to have a problem with black rappers and actors.

Ummm... Actually I wasn't so serious.

50 Cent's first track was great because Dre provided the beat, after that his controversial past sold him rather than his music and he was far from the new Tupac that he was touted to be but ive never seen him act so i'll wait and judge as the story sounds interesting and De Niro is in it

^but 50 cents in it, meaning he has to act, further meaning this movie will suck balls.

Yeah, I am sure that's the case. Its just a buncha closet racists. Or, maybe they actually mean what they say? I think '50 Cent' is a terrible influence on the black community. He glorifies violence and depreciates women for entertainment. Why is this the kind of individual that we should be praising? This is immoral behaviour and should be looked down upon. So man ygreat black leaders fought with their lives for equal rights and if they were alive today I am sure they would be appalled at people like '50 Cent' for taking the black youth back a few steps just to get "paid."

50 needs to stay away from movies and just continue with music.

It wouldn't hurt for him to take a break from that, either...

Just saying cause that's what he's good at. His movie last year was just lame.

Lol, well, he's supposed to be good at it. I didn't even know he had been in a movie. It must have sucked pretty bad...

Yeah, and he made 50 million for his album. For his movie, he just didn't have the presence.

Shut up stewie. You guys sit here and praise films like The Godfather and Natural born killers(which is believed to have been the cause of 16 murders in the US) but when a rapper tells his life story about things he's actually been through, he's labeled as a thug and a bad influence.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

why robert why!!!

Why is it that rappers are looked down upon for glorifying violence but films like Scarface, The Godfather and so on are so praised?

I mean I think 50 should stick to music. He makes hot tracks but he cant act.

I didn't glorify anything or give praise to those films. The issue is that 50 Cent has become a role model for misguided black men from the streets and that is the WORST kind of role model those boys/men need.

I personally think Scarface is a terrible move in general. But, in the end Tony got what was coming to him, because he was a monster. The Godfather was a tragedy. I do not think its "cool" to be a gangster. If anybody watches these films and thinks that the life of criminal is something to be admired, then they have seriously misunderstood the message of these films. People like 50 Cent, for example, have misunderstood the messages. 50 Cent makes a life of violence and crime something to be admired. He has a responsibility as a role model for a minority group to be positive and uplifting. Crime never pays. There are plenty of prominent black people who would agree with what I am saying, Dave Chappelle, Oprah, Bill Cosby, they have all made similar statements.

Look If you ain't worth a mil, you ain't far from broke
Got anought heart to sell weed but you scared of dope
I wouldn't snitch on my peoples if the feds grabbed me
Yo ass would hit more notes than Ron Isley
I wouldn't rhyme about Rolleys if I had no watch
Wouldnt write about crack if I ain't had no spot
You talk six coupe **** you only pushing a trey
Got *****es shutting you down in the C.L.K
For cats like you, crime don't pay
You just linger in the hood, them *****z blow you away
You the type to get paper when I'm locked up, get yo jewels rocked up
Then have to tuck em in when I pop up
*****z in the hood sayin "50's Grimy"
Cause they hit me wit Kosami and now they can't find me
If you see it how I see it, my watch is yo whip
And I can cop anotha one afta each assist

[Chorus x2]
You ain't no gangsta
You'se a busta, a customer, a sucker
You fake fraudulent mother****er
You ain't a gangsta
I should cut ya, cock back and bust ya or stomp you out cause
We don't trust ya

Yeah, just tellin his life story...

Did you actually read those lyrics or did you look at all the cuss words and cry because 50 is so mean. When your starving in the hood and cops **** with you because they know they can get away with it, let's see what you do with your life. I dont wanna argue I was just making note of a disturbing trend ive notice on boards like these.

The thing with a number of rappers is they glorify and brag about being thugs and killing people etc...and most admit they do it to sell records because young guys (a lot of them white)think it's so cool

The irony of Scarface being brought up is that the message of the film has totally been lost due to guys like 50 and other rappers making Tony Montana into some sort of hero

What would I do? I'd be in school trying to make something of myself. Not pushing drugs and being a criminal. People like 50 Cent GLORIFY this lifestyle, young people living in these conditions see him and think its ok to be a hustler, to be a gangster..."ive gotta be hard, like 50." That is the WRONG message to send to disenfranchised black youth. We need role models who promte education and self improvement. Not gun toting ex criminals. If 50 Cent has something to say about where he came from, write a book and tell us a story. In this song he is suggesting that his adversaries are somehow inferior to him because he is more of a "gangsta" than they are. Yeah, that is a great role model right there.
