Better than the alternative. Assume they don't, call the police, and wait 45 minutes for them to arrive. By that time they could not only have made off with your stuff but raped your kids, murdered the whole family, etc even without a gun.

I'd point the gun and tell them to "get the f out of my house". I wouldn't shoot unless they lunged at me trying to take my weapon.

This happened when I was at Disney World a few years ago. A grandmother tried to enter Magic Kingdom with a gun in her purse.

Although their security managed to catch it before she made it into the park.

So Disney World has better security than airports. That's encouraging.
