8 Months Later...

So, which character is getting ruined at the end of this Civil War?
Are we gonna erase another 20 years of continuity for a character or not this time?

even though its different characters, Id agree. Who'd ever thought we'd see the day of a headline involving Captain America and Thor kissing. This seems like a PR stunt for controversy

yeah if it was just a story from the comic, most people, myself included, probably wouldn't even notice or care
but when they have Alex Ross do a special cover and they blast it out to the news sites, it reeks of publicity stunt

MARVEL: "Look, we have women heroes AND black heroes!! and we even let them kiss each other! This is what Tumblr wants right, Cap and Thor making out!.. Oh they want Steve and Odinson? Weird.. but hey, close enough!"

ya i dont see the real huff on falcap and janethor kissing.

Yep. You'd expect it to be better accepted than Superman/Wonder Woman, since neither Jane nor Sam have traditional partners in recent years. I think it's mostly just the folks who hate ANAD hating the kiss by association.

ya and we dont even know the context of why they are kissing and if they become a couple how long it even will last. The real huff is non readers of current stuff sees headline before reading stories or see pic is seeing "Captain America and Thor Kiss" and they think its male thor and steve rogers gone gay or something.

Honestly, I remembered female Thor, but I forgot Sam was Cap, so I was expecting that.

Really, it's all fine. New things happen in comics all the time. This one gets a bit more headlines, so what? Just enjoy the ride.

Am I the only one who wants the old marvel back? :(

You mean "real" Marvel? It's not even the same. Marvel comics is just complete, utter garbage right now. Thor has been ruined, and until he fronts his title books again, I'm not spending any more money on Marvel comics. And that absolutely blows. I miss waking up Thursday morning and driving down to Harrison's to pick up my subscriptions.

dont even get the X-men fans started....lol. As one of them, I miss the old Marvel as well

See, I'm fine with people saying they aren't reading a comic because it's not the version of the character they want to see. I, however, am greatly irritated by the people who call things "garbage", "Trash", etc..., just because it's different from what they grew up with. You don't like it? Fine. But don't go calling books that you haven't even read "garbage". There are plenty of people who do enjoy these stories, and plenty of critics who praise them. So let your opinions stay just that, opinions.

But do either of their flight powers allow them to simply hover in place? They're leaning in toward each other for that kiss. Is the whole issue going to be them trying to find all of their shattered teeth after the post-kiss collision? :o

Yeah,I think I'll stick with masterworks and omnibus books. Cap,Hulk,Thor,Spidey...they're all unrecognizable right now.

How many people who hate 8 Months Later Spider-Man approve of One More Day? It seems the same sentiment of "this isn't Spider-Man" is what prompted them to have Peter sell his marriage to Mephisto, but I'd be willing to bet there's a large group of overlap anyway. People complain about comics changing but they also complain about them trying to stay the same.

Not really. I really dont recall fans hating Spidey being married to MJ and proclaiming that that status quo of the last 20 years wasnt Spider-Man. Most Spidey fans in 2007 had grown up with a married Peter and his relationship with MJ was a staple to the character. OMD happened for one reason and it was bc Quesada didnt like a married Peter and thought that aged the character

Well, I wasn't talking about the sentiment of the fans there, I was talking about the sentiment at Marvel mirroring the sentiment of the fans now. My point is that the fans are being hypocritical. If Spider-Man can graduate, leave the Bugle, mary Mary Jane, etc., why can't he use his knowledge and genius to achieve success? This complaining that he's changed strikes me as odd from people who were OK with countless changes that came before but upset when those changes were reversed.

Anyway, I suspect he'll ultimately lose his new-found wealth. Just like Doc Ock is no longer Spider-Man. It's a story to tell, that's all.

Ya just watch by the time next relaunch and or mcu solo film debut we will see status quo go back to a more normal out of luck peter and mj be a main deal again.

This is the same thing I don't understand. Everyone hated it when they decided Peter COULDN'T grow up, now that he has, everyone hates it. I think it's just that a certain vocal group of fans just hate change in general.

And anyone who thinks Spidey is "unrecognizable" obviously hasn't read the new book. As a lifelong Spider-fan, I can assure you this is the same old Peter Parker we all know and love, just with a new job.

I'm glad if Parker's getting aged up again

Now, another hero being a CEO of some mega corporation? That I can do without

Where are all the poor and working class superheroes, Marvel??
need a team called "The 99%"
