I am pretty sure with how they waited for The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King to give The Lord Of The Rings Best Picture & what not Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: 2 has Best Picture locked down

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is my most anticipated movie of this year, so it'd be nice if the film gets nominated in the following categories: The ones I highlight are the ones that I think the movie will likely to get.

Best Director
Best Picture
Best Actress (if Mara really knock out the park with her performance)
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Editing
Best Score

Best Cinematography

The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn I want to get nominated for Best Animated Feature, its chances to win it's kind of high too.

Maybe some of them is wishful thinking but I have a feeling the movie will be great.

Ridiculously early for predictions but so what, who cares right?

I just hope they dont screw Deathly Hallows 2 over if its as amazing as it looks

I'll save everyone a few pointless pages of *****ing- Deathly Hallows is not going to win.

I hoping for either a Tree of Life or A Dangerous Method win. It would be nice for Cronenberg or Mallick to snag an Oscar for directing. If Muppets wins best song that means Jermaine Clement wins an Oscar and that is almost too awesome to process.

I don't know if J. Edgar or Carnage are set for early 2012, but if they are, they will likely take a few spots. And I don't know why, but I expect Hugo Cabaret to be overlooked as a best picture nominee for something smaller (eg. We Bought A Zoo).

I have no such illuisions. But a nominations seems very possible.

The movie will probably take those noms:

Best Picture
Art Direction
Sound Editing
Sound Mixing
Visual Effects
Makeup

And maybe

Cinematography
Editing
Music

Thats 6-9 potential nominations.

The only thing I want for Deathly Hallows Part 2 on Oscar night is for Stuart Craig to finally win for Art Direction...anything else after that would be a bonus.

I'm hoping that this will finally be the year for an Oldman nomination. They better push J. Edgar this year for a Di Caprio win because the Lincoln project is slated for 2012 and I expect DDL to dominate the awards season for that role.

I dont see how J. Edgar can be pushed for 2012. The movie will finish filming very soon, and they will have 5-6 months of post production time, and that is not a film with loads of CG to need more PP time. The movie is a sure Oscar material and there is no way they will pushed for early 2012 beacuse it will kill of the movie's chances for the Oscars.

I'm predicting a December release date.

PS: Yeah, I counsider Daniel Day-Lewis a three time Oscar winner ever since I have learned he will play Lincoln.

But this must be DiCaprio's year. In 2004 he had the bad luck of being in the same year with Jamie Foxx's Ray. This year I hope there is not one to stop him.

Damn, lots of potentially great movies coming out this year.

No way Harry Potter gets a Best Picture Nomination. Don't get me wrong, I think it'd be awesome if it got one, but that's a hell of a long shot.

I hope Gary Oldman gets the recognition he deserves for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. He has to finally be nominated.

I've been hearing he is good.

I can't wait for that film, and I want to see Oldman. Oldman and Bale finally winning in two years is just a dream.

I thought Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy was coming out in 2012? If that's the case, it would be up for the 85th Academy Awards in 2013. Not next year's.

Same goes for Daniel Day-Lewis and Lincoln.

Universal bought the rights and they're aiming for a November or December 2011 for it.

Oh sweet .

From the director of Let the Right One In, and starring the likes of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Yeah. I'm there.

But I know for a fact Lincoln is slated for a 2012 release. In other words, DDL will be a frontrunner for Best Actor in 2013.

Transformers 3 has to win over some technical achievement next year, I can't believe how it lost to one of the Bourne movies years back.

Worse. It lost the visual effects Oscar to The Golden Compass. ****ing polar bears. I don't care what you thought of the movie, Transformers was a new step for ILM, and they got the job done. They were robbed of the Oscar that year.

My April’s predictions. I have gathered information for a month now to update my list. It sure is a long shot but with ten best picture nominees it could work it's way in there. Actually winning would be a huge struggle though.
