Shootout probably means competition in this case. Just name your top three action films of 90s.

@OutOfBoose is right, this is the same premise as the 80's thread, it's simply about the best R rated action movie of the 90's, I just used the term shootout due to them being action movies. So @Mandon Knight @flickchick85 and @samsnee Not sure if you guys want to change your nominations to 3 movies instead of the sequences.

Sorry for the confusion, I should have written more in the OP, I just thought after the 80's tournemant everyone knew the concept.

There are just too many good action films to choose from and something will be overlooked for sure. In addition to those mentioned in the thread there's also: Hard Target, Under Siege, Blade, Rush Hour, Starship Troopers, Universal Soldier and so on.

Yeah, there are certainly a lot of worthy contenders, but if ya gotta whittle them down many are gonna be left on the wayside.

My choices basically went: Early 90's, Mid 90's, Late 90's.

So I chose Total Recall, True Lies and then The Matrix.

But there are so many that deserve to be in the mix outside of those three for sure.

I forgot True Lies was R rated, got my list down to about 6, this is harder than the 80's one surprisingly.
