Usual drill, posters nominate 3 sequences each, this will run for 2 days then the poll with the 5 most selected sequences will go up on the 30th.

In truth I've seen a lot less movies this year than usual so I can barely make 3 nominations, but here goes!

1) The Frankfurt bank sequence in The A Team.

2) The snow base sequence in Fisher's mind in Inception.

3) Iron Man vs Whiplash at the Monaco race track.

1.) The Disc Wars scene in Tron Legacy especially Rinzler vs Sam.

2.) Hallway tussle with Arthur and the projections in Inception.

3.) Scott Pilgrim vs World so hard to pick one but I'd have to say the fight with Pilgrim and Matthew Patel was the best one.

1. Expendables cellar fight

2. Expendables final camp assault.

3. Expendables Christmas/Ross/Garza Troops fight ----> Vilena Escape ----> Fry and Die pier dive bomb.

1) Hit Girl and Kick-Ass break into Frank D'Amico's place in KICK-ASS

2) Hallway fight in INCEPTION

3) Scott VS Matthew Patel in SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD

1. edit: changed my choice of KA scene, as the one i picked was more for dramatic effect, rather than action per se, so I vote for the attack on the Mafia at the end by HG and KA. bumped this up as memories of it came back, HG's fight with Frank is amazing, and all the practical stunts are top quality, very fulfilling cb action.

2. Iron-Man vs Whiplash in Monaco by far the best action scene from both IM movies. bumped this down as once he gets in the suit, it is quite a short scene.

I have only just saw this movie, all of the action scenes were awesome, but i think I'll go with your nomination, that was a particularly good one.

3. Scott Pilgrim vs Matthew Patel

runners up...

Kick-Ass defends the guy getting beaten up in the street.
, there is a lot of emotion in that scene that pushes it past the usual kicks you get from watching an action scene.

The A-Team helicopter escape and the tank parachute escape, I loved both these scenes, very funny as well as being pretty good CG action.

Black Widow vs the security guards, good to see some real nice practical stunts in a big superhero movie.

I didn't see many movies this year, so don't know what other great stuff i missed.

1.) "Kick-Ass" The warehouse scene when Hit-Girl is rescuing Kick-Ass and Big Daddy.

2.) "Tron: Legacy" The disc war scene.

3.) "Iron Man 2" Iron Man & War Machine vs. drones scene.

The Expendables - Final camp assault >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all the action scenes released this year.

I absolutely loved the action in The Town and the street firefight in Inception (which I think stands equal to the Hallway scene). Raw, chaotic, simple. Any action scene that comes from Mann's 'Heat' school instantly gets my vote.

1. Inception - moving hallway fight

2. Tron: Legacy - light cycle race/battle

3. Kick-Ass - Hit Girl vs. D'Amico's thugs

So hard to make votes when I have yet to see Scott Pilgrim, which I purchased today, or Tron, which I plan on seeing in a few days, will make my nominations tomorrow.

The Expendables - Final assault
Inception - Hallway fight
Iron Man 2 - Drones and Whiplash fight at the end

Unstoppable was one long action sequence, and it blew everything away. I was so freakin tense that whole movie, despite the inaccuracies.

The robbery of Fenway Park in The Town Comes in second. Ben has become a very, very capable director.

Third I would say is the last act of Inception, beginning from the moment Yusef drives the van off the bridge. The cutting between dream levels and sustaining suspense is purely masterful.

You know what those sequences all have in common? REALITY. There may be composite work, and bare-minimal CGI, but you never feel it. Even in The Expendables, I'm taken out of the moment by CG knives and early-nineties quality CG blood spurts.

1. TRON: Legacy - Disc war sequence

2. Inception - Arctic mountain fortress

3. The Town - Fenway Park heist

The Expendables - The finale (assault on the camp)

Kick-Ass - The assault on D'Amico's penthouse

Iron Man 2 - Iron Man and War Machine vs. Drones

The hallway fight from "Inception" narrowly missed the list.

Hit-girl vs D'Amico's goons

every damned scene in the expendables

The hotel corridor in Inception
Hit Girl vs. D'Amico's goons
The escape from Sunnyside and the trash compactor in Toy Story 3

1. Lightcycle fight - Tron Legacy
2. Disc war - Tron Legacy
3. hallway fight - Inception

1. Hallway Fight-Inception
2. Riding Shootout-True Grit (I love Wayne, but Bridges looked way better doing this)
3. Iron Man vs War Machine -Iron Man 2

The Mombasa Chase in Inception for me. I love everything about it.
