Most people whose first language is english seem to expect the rest of the world to learn it and force it onto people, so probably english will be foisted onto everyone, either that or Chinese since so many people speak that.

I don't think a brand new language will emerge

There aren't enough sounds you could produce with your mouth and vocal cords in order for an entirely new and original language to develop. Think about it, amongst the hundreds of languages that exist, all of the sounds are already taken. You'd wind up splicing languages, and what good does that do?

Possibly,but i dont see this happening anytime soon.Perhaps a thousand years from now?Some say that we will all merge into a single race again..so why not have a single language?

I am 100% sure it will eventually happen. And I doubt the official language will be English. They will probably make a whole new language, similar to Esperanto and the FIFA language

I hope it never will. Language tends to create deep grooves that the wheels of one's mind has difficulty departing from. Learning new languages brings the experience of learning new concepts your language had no words for, or revisiting concepts in a way your old language does not describe.

The mulitiplicity of language among mankind is a good gauge of our ability to see the entire elephant. And the eradication of languages, wherever it has happened, throughout history, cuts off gateways to the greater mind irreparably.
