I’m headed for the border
It’s on my mind
And nothin’ really matters
I’ve got to be on time
Look in the view mirror
Is he hot on my tracks
Is he getting nearer
I feel some heat is on
My back

(Speed demon)
Speedin’ on the freeway
Gotta get a leadway
(Speed demon)
Doin’ it on the highway
Gotta have it my way
(Speed demon)
Mind is like a compass
I’m stoppin’ at nothin’
(Speed demon)
(He say) pull over boy and
Get your ticket right . . .

And nothin’ gonna stop me
Ain’t no stop and go
I’m speedin’ on the midway
I gotta really burn this road

(Speed demon)
Speedin’ on the freeway
Gotta get the leadway
(Speed demon)
Doin’ it on the highway
Gotta have it my way
(Speed demon)
Mind is like a compass
I’m stoppin’ at nothin’
(Speed demon)
(He say) pull over boy and
Get your ticket right . . .

Speed Demon, you’re the
Very same one
Who said the future’s in
Your hands
The life you save could be
Your own
You’re preachin’ ‘bout my
Life like you’re the law
Gonna live each day and
Hour like
For me there’s no tomorrow

Go! Go! Go! Aaow!

(Speed demon)
Speedin’ on the freeway
Gotta get a leadway
(Speed demon)
Got fire in my pocket
I just lit a rocket
(Speed demon)
Just pull over boy
And get your ticket right
(Speed demon)
Pull over boy and
Get your ticket right
(Speed demon)
Just, pull over boy
And eat your ticket
Pull over boy
Pull over boy
And get your ticket right
Ugh!
Aaow!
Uhh!
Hoo!
Get your ticket right
Pull over boy-get
Your ticket right
Pull over boy and
Get your ticket right
Pull over boy
Pull over boy and
Get your ticket
Eat tour ticket
Get your ticket
Eat to’, get yo’, hoo! Aaow!
Get your ticket right

Don't forget about Karolina's codename from Runaways...

..."IRON MAN"!?

Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We'll just pass him there
why should we even care?

He was turned to steel
in the great magnetic field
When he travelled time
for the future of mankind

Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
that he will soon unfurl

Now the time is here
for Iron Man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead
fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron Man lives again!

For some reason I think Black Sabbath's Iron Man suits Kang more.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
And she's gone

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Aaaaahhhhh...

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmellow pies
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers
That grow so incredibly high

Newpaper taxis appear on the shore
Waiting to take you away
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds
And you're gone

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Aaaaahhhhh...

Picture yourself on a train in a station
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle
The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Aaaaahhhhh...
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Aaaaahhhhh...
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds

Marvel's Iron Man first appeared in 1963, Black Sabbath's song Iron Man is from their 1971 album Paranoid. The Black Sabbath song is also not based on the comicbook character, but inspired by the british book The Iron Man written by Ted Hughes in 1968. That book is also the basis for the 1999 cartoon, The Iron Giant.

Man this feels like spam.

You could say that in about seventy-five percent of all threads on this site and the saying would still apply.

some of the obscure x-men have them

abyss
bliss
famine
firefight
freakshow
flinch
flashback
gunshot
gateway
hardtime
holocaust
hope
impulse
inferno
hope
outlaw
prettyboy
revelation
tatoo
tommy
war

believe it or not some of those are gospel songs

also speedfreak the hulk villian.

there are more though, tombstone is the title of a song on the juke box at the bar i eat wings at and theres a jazz song called whirlwind and now with the ultimate villian we have hurricane, didnt the supremes sing that?

just because there are songs named those things doesn't mean the comic chartacters are named after the songs

I mean, seriously, do you think Holocaust was named after the song, or the event?

tombstone003.JPG

I like a tombstone cause it
weathers well
and if it stands or if it crumbles
only time will tell

if you carve my name in marble
you must cut it deep
there'll be no dancing on the gravestone
you must let me sleep
and time is burning burning burning
it burns away

I don't need to see the gates of
famous men
but I do try to see the kingdom
every now and then

if you ask me where it is it's on a
humble map
and I know that to enter in the doorway
show your handicap
and time is burning burning burning
it burns away

I was just listing characters that had names of song.not the title of the thread i know.

When I woke up today I was dizzy in my brain
It's not that I like to feel this way
The wagon's shaking and I feel it start to tilt
And I just go tumbling right back in the whirlwind
And I find myself again

I cannot seem to hold on to a ****ing thought
This whirlwind's got me and I'm racing out the door
It's alright for a while but when I try to focus
All my convictions come crashing down around me again
Sneaking up behind me when I ain't lookin'

Stare out my window, I smella sour mist come in
It hovers around this house like some sort of doom and cloud

I cannot seem to put my thoughts within a line
The whirlwind breaks it up likedust within a storm
When it rains it pours until we haven't got no more
And I just go tumbling right back into the whirlwind again

It's been a week now, and I haven't seen daylight
And all my friends are tired of worrying about me
At my feet the wagon's in a million pieces
Gotta find the strength to build it back up again

I cannot seem to put my thoughts within a line
This whirlwind breaks it up like dust within a storm
When it rains it pours until we haven't got no more
And I just go tumbling right back in the whirlwind again

When I woke up today I was dizzy in my head
It's not that I like to feel this way
The wagon's shaking and Ifeel it start to tilt
And all of my convictionscome crashing down around me again
And I find myself at the end

Anybody else remember that song posted a while back dealing with Sentry and the Void?

Your eyes are almost dead
can't get out of bed
And you can't sleep

You're sitting down to dress
and you're a mess
You look in the mirror

You look in your eyes
Then you realize

Everybody goes
leaving those
who fall behind

Everybody goes
as far as they can
They don't just care

They stood on the stairs
Laughing at your airs

Your mother's dead
She said
"Don't be afraid"

Your mother's dead
You're on your own
She's in her bed

Everybody goes
Leaving those
Who fall behind

Everybody goes
As far as they can
They don't just care

You're a wasted face
you're a sad-eyed lie
You're a holocaust

It's like Shakespeare,
but with lots more punching.
It's like Goethe,
but with lots more crunching.
Like Titanic, but the boat's still floating.
No, it's not, the mother####ing boat is exploading!

Dirk Anger is one bad mamajama.
He leads H.A.T.E., sitting around in his pretty pink pajamas.
H.A.T.E. was formed by the Beyond Corporation.
Purposely to bring about catastrophic devastation.

Nextwave, Nextwave

Do you need a haircut?
The Beyond Corporations gonna help you out.
Do you need a toothbrush?
The Beyond Corporations got an extra one.
Do you have a stepson?
The Beyond Corporations gonna wipe him out.
Do you see a monster, or a pirate, electric emu, a giant sky rat, a midget Hitler or Pontius Pilate?
Don't call your mom or a doctor, just pick up the phone and call.

Monica- is gonna microwave your ####.

While I was walking down the beach one bright and sunny day
I saw a great big wooden box a-floatin’ in the bay
I pulled it in and opened it up and much to my surprise
Ooh, I discovered a boom-boom-boom, right before my eyes
Oh, I discovered a boom-boom-boom, right before my eyes

I picked it up and ran to town as happy as a king
I took it to a guy I knew who’d buy most any thing
But this is what he hollered at me as I walked in his shop
Oh, get outta here with that boom-boom-boom, before I call a cop
Oh, get outta here with that boom-boom-boom before I call a cop

I turned around and got right out, a-runnin’ for my life
And than I took it home with me to give it to my wife
But this is what she hollered at me as I walked in the door
Oh, get outta here with that boom-boom-boom, and don’t come back no more
Oh, get outta here with that boom-boom-boom, and don’t come back no more

I wandered all around the town until I chanced to meet
A hobo who was looking for a hand-out on the street
He said he’d take most any old thing, he was a desperate man
But when I showed him the boom-boom-boom, he turned around and ran
Oh, when I showed him the boom-boom-boom, he turned around and ran

I wandered on for many years, a victim of my fate
Until one day I came upon St. Peter at the gate
And when I tried to take it inside, he told me where to go
Get outta here with that boom-boom-boom and take it down below
Oh, get outta here with that boom-boom-boom and take it down below

The moral of this story is if you’re out on the beach
And you should see a great big box and it’s within your reach
Don’t ever stop and open it up, that’s my advice to you
‘Cause you’ll never get rid of the boom-boom-boom, no matter what you do
Oh, you’ll never get rid of the boom-boom-boom, no matter what you do

This song does not have the name of any Marvel Character in it, but every time I hear it I picture Storm singing about T'challa.

BLAP015COV_col_PREVIEWS.jpg

I was five and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down.

Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up, I called him mine
He would always laugh and say
"Remember when we used to play?"

Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down.

Music played, and people sang
Just for me, the church bells rang.

Now he's gone, I don't know why
And till this day, sometimes I cry
He didn't even say goodbye
He didn't take the time to lie.

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down...

Man-o-man-o-man

Nobody mentioned the song "Wolverine Blues" and yes it is refrencing Wolverine from the X-Men, he's all over the music video for it. It was on Beavis and Butthead.

Instead of songs that remind you, or share a name with Marvel characters, how about songs that actually mention them by name?

'X' by X-Zibit: "N*gg*s is weak, I'm concrete like Benjamin Grimm."

'Mutant X' by Twiztid: "See me for all that I am, and all that I do; the Multiple Man, appearin' in multiples of two." Also note that the singer goes by the alias 'Jamie Madrox'

Wow,there are so many Marvel references when it comes to hip-hop.

Biggie from "Let Me Get Down":"Stretchin' n****z like Mr.Fantastic."

P Diddy from "Let's Get It":"Got y'all Hulkin' like Bruce did."

Rza from "NYC Everything":"Rhyme star, I write a hundred thousand dollar bar
My pinstripe comma deletes your power bar
Dr. Octopus tentacles, same as different song
Bob Digital instrumental, nothing's indentitcal."

Members of the Wu-Tang Clan have probably been the most vocal about their love of Marvel comics.Ghostface goes by the alias Tony Stark while Method Man goes by Johnny Blaze. On top of that, they also endorsed Johnny Blaze NY's Marvel clothing collection.
