First off, some ground rules...

1. Hype rules apply of course

2. No posting pictures in this thread, just to be safe.

3. No posting web address (except in this first post)

So, lets begin!

I was reading this article about the Batman porno(http://www.comicbookresources.com/?id=26220&page=article) and it got me thinking. Porn films on superheroes? How does one feel about this? Apparently there are more superheroes porn films being planned by some very famous characters

First off, would you buy it?

Secondly, Fanboys are known to complain about story faithfulness in big screen blockbusters. Would the same apply here? Would people actually watch it for the character interaction.

Thirdly, would an adult film have the same affect as regular comic book films? Would people blog about it? Would people make cast lists for it?

Finally, can you see adult films of superheroes becoming the norm?

What do you think?

Absolutely not. Pornos dount "count" as legitimate films. The vast majority of comic book fans never heard of the many superhero porn films that have come out over the past few decades. I tend to doubt that very many guys will actually care to watch a porn based solely on the superhero aspect...they either want to watch porn or they don't. I imagine there is a minority out there that want to fantasize about Wonder Woman enough to accept that some random porn star is actually her, and her adventures are hardly heroic...and therefore will watch. I tend to think that most guys who want to watch porn arent fond of ANY plot, let alone a fake action plot and horrendous special effects.

Superhero porn has existed in mainstream porn for decades. This is nothing new, except maybe a bigger marketing scheme.

Camera should lick a lot of the (female) pornstars in costume. Don't get nude too soon, stay in the costume. That's what's hot, right?

I don't think a superhero porn is a legitimate superhero movie. I don't think the director is trying to say something about superheroes or genuinely trying tell a story about them.

It's just different clothes to take off.

Actually, I want a porn director to expand upon what Alan Moore tried to show about Superheroes and sex in Watchmen.

It could be a character study.

It wouldnt be porn. It would be independent. The movie Shortbus is about sex and shows the actors actually engaging in sex, but it isnt porn. I doubt any adult director or performer could even have the talent to do so.

In the 1980's and early 1990's there were quite a few adult film parodies on everything from superheroes (Batb**ch and Supers**t leap immediately to mind), as well as classic Saturday morning cartoons (such as The Flintbones), SNL sketches/movies (The Boneheads), and mainstream films (Barbara The Barbarian and Passenger 69). Even weekly TV shows (Married With Hormones and Late Night For Lovers, the latter of which spoofs Late Night With David Letterman). So the fact that their doing this again is hardly new.

It's also not that surprising. In the mid 1990's through until recently, adult films with any semblance of plot (often referred to in the industry as "couples appeal" videos) had taken a back seat to videos that have no plot, no pretense, just two straight hours of sex (often referred to in the industry as "wall to wall videos"). Personally, I find that while the sex is often hotter in the wall to wall videos they tend to get really boring really quick and I turn the video off after the first or second sex scene. With the couples appeal videos, there's a story that you can follow in between the sex scenes which can be just as entertaining as the sex scenes themselves. The better couples appeal movies have sex scenes written into the script that actually help move the plot forward rather than just being forced in there to fill their quota of five sex scenes per movie (the average number in a plot driven adult film).

With the commercial success of movies such as Pirates, Pirates 2: Stagnetti's Revenge, Carolina Jones, and The 8th Day, all of which having much higher production values than any adult films I've ever seen (as well as many mainstream movies I've seen as well), it's hardly surprising that the adult film industry is taking a shot at the comic book movie craze. Likely the new XXX rated Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman, and Hulk spoofs will have far greater production values than any previous spoofs done in the past. As for the comic fans, I think they'll accept the movies for what they are, erotic satires of their favorite comic book heroes, and not as accurate representations of those heroes.

By the way, if you're wondering how I know so much about the adult film industry? I used to work in an adult video store and watching porn quite regularily was kind of a job requirement in order to provide good customer service (not to mention a perk of the job, free video rentals). I also used to subscribe to Sex TV: The Channel back when I had cable, which often had shows talking about the golden age of porn and the changes in the industry, etc.

Usually i would agree with you guys, but did any of you not click the link? It has a trailer that is on youtube(so nothing obscene in trailer)...and it really did look like a legitamite work, great attention of detail...

If you guys still think that if after you see the youtube trailer then that is just fine, but you can't speak until you've seen it first! The DVD will even have a non porn version. I'd like to see that one.

I have no idea how you look at that and think "legitimate." I have seen better fan made youtube videoes

If it were a straight up spoof of the comics, you'd probably be right. However its quite obvious that it is a spoof of the 1960's TV series with Adam West, Burt Ward, and Caesar Romero. If you had ever watched the show, then you would know that the production values were not that great to begin with. And to be honest, the production values of the porn parody version are even higher than the TV show's (granted the TV show didn't set the bar very high). I'm curious if the Wonder Woman and Incredible Hulk pornos are going to be spoofing the TV shows from the 1970's and 1980's. Does their Bill Bixby look alike turn into The Hulk every time he gets angry? Or will it be every time he gets horny?

As so when you said 'mature' you meant 'sex' and when you said 'Adult' you meant 'adulTERY'. Nice.

Anyway, I have to go with what most people said here - they're not legitimate because it's not about the characters. Fan-casts, sure, I've seen a lot of fan-sites that place pornstars for their 'fantasy casts'. It wouldn't be a norm, but then again, the latter half of the 90s were basically soft porn in the comics industry, so maybe certain characters might work just to play that 'fantasy escapism' angle?

The sad thing is (or is it?) that these pornos don't always stick to their characters, but the FANFICTION culture is surely begging for it.

they probably only have a certain amount of actors and actresses to choose from, whereas in a mainstream movie they have a vast talent pool to choose from. so it would seem like a porno adaptation of a movie is not under scrutiny since they do what they can with who they have.

First off, would you buy it?

No, largely because buying porn is for chumps. The internet exists. I ain't spending my money on what's free.

Secondly, Fanboys are known to complain about story faithfulness in big screen blockbusters. Would the same apply here? Would people actually watch it for the character interaction.

No and yes. Fanboys, at least the not completely bat**** insane ones, won't take it seriously because, y'know, it's a porno. The story isn't the point. However, people might watch them for the story and character interaction for the sake of laughing at it.

Thirdly, would an adult film have the same affect as regular comic book films? Would people blog about it? Would people make cast lists for it?

Yes, actually. People will blog about it because people will blog about anything, and I have seen fan cast lists for porn on the internet at least once when, of all things, looking up an episode of scrubs.

Finally, can you see adult films of superheroes becoming the norm?

Not the norm, because porn is a business of fetishes, and that's a pretty specific fetish. But I can see superhero pornos doing good business.

It wouldnt be porn. It would be independent. The movie Shortbus is about sex and shows the actors actually engaging in sex, but it isnt porn. I doubt any adult director or performer could even have the talent to do so.

It would be porn. Just porn with a story that matters. "Independent" doesn't mean anything about sex, it just means it was produced outside of a major studio.

So it looks like "The Incredible Hulk" is getting a porn parody now. I'ld show the link but it's from a website the Hype doesn't allow you to link to anymore. What's more the developers of it have already said they're planning an adult film version of "The Green Hornet, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Captain America and Thor."

I wonder how they get the licensing? I'm suprised Disney would be so liberal! Anyway, interesting, looks like quite alot of people are into it. The Captain America version will be very odd indeed!

If that gets a sequel I'll get mad! :cmad:
