A Mighty Heart - new Angelina Jolie movie

I searched two times for a thread about this movie, once with the title and then another with just Angelina Jolie... I'm surprised nobody made a thread yet.

So, who is going to see this? I see the commercials for the film about 6 times a day... looks like a watcher

Been getting rave reviews. And is supposedly one of her finest. Jolie is truly a good actress, but her personal life coupled with her almost comic book-y attractive looks always overshadow it.

She looks like a latina in that above shot, and not just because of the pregnant status. =P

I think people will stay away from this one in theaters because of the subject matter, but it will pick up in rentals so they can watch it in the sanctity of their own homes.

The subject is a wound that healed, and this movie is like re-opening that wound.

I heard about it. There was a little controversy because Jolie is playing someone who is mixed race. I'm a big Jolie fan and I'm glad shes doing more work like this. People forget that she can act!

I think shes one of the only 6 women in hollywood who can act. No offence, but alot of female actresses are trying to replace acting with good looks.

What the hell? I've seen a total of one tv spot for this film and no trailer whatsoever. Talk about bad marketing.

i'm probably going to see this sunday with my mom. jolie looks to have done a fantastic job, and yes there was some controversy on her playing the part because she had a totally different ethnicity than mariane, but it looks to be getting some really good buzz so we'll just have to wait and see how she did.

We tend to take Jolie's acting talents more seriously when she's not all glammed up looking like a live action Top Cow character.

I'm just glad there will be some exposure on the Daniel Pearl case aswell as the recent sure of kidnappings.

I think a lot of people aren't aware of just what this film is about.

I don't think that's the actresses' fault so much as the studios. Pretty but lackluster-acting actresses are better for the green than a normal looking actress with good acting skills.

There are plenty of women in Hollywood that can act, much much more than 6. They just aren't given the treatment that the younger, prettier actresses are getting.

I mean, we could have gotten someone that can act for Sue Storm as opposed to the eye candy that is Jessica Alba.

So true on all accounts. But you would think the pretty ones would take their job more seriously and commit to being good actresses, themselves.

When you're hot, you don't need to worry about talent or personality. Too many of us accept that, and they feel they can get away with it, so you know.

i've been hearing great things about this movie, and jolie's performance... but she's just one of those stars. when i see her on screen, i don't see her character, i see jolie pretending to be someone.

plus her accent from the previews sounds terribly forced.
