A Power Rangers Reboot, done seriously.

Yeah, exactly. And the Rangers shows can't seem to escape that childish mentality.

It could pull in a teenage/adult audience if it would let go of it's origins and allowed itself a stylistic upgrade.

A reboot done seriously? Here's your answer right here:

The one thing that bugged me the most about the show is that everyone seemed one second away from mugging for the camera. It was fun when I was a teen, but even at that age there was a self-awareness about the humor I wished was used sparingly.

Also, I was tremendously disappointed to learn that all the action scenes were from a completely different series, and this trend continues now. The only glimpse we got of the actors doing their own fights were the jungle scenes in the first film. :(

I'd love to see a serious take on the material, with more of an "adventure" edge. Ditch the silly villains and Voltron knockoffs.

Actually the actors did several unmorphed fights in the original series. Once season 2 began, they also began filming their own footage, and that mix of footage is what continues today. It's not really that bad a practice if you ask me.

Honestly, I would be too embarrassed to tell anybody else I want to watch this.

It kinda got worse when Disney took over, to the point where on RPM they made fun of the fact that there was always some kind of explosion everytime the Rangers morphed and why they always had to call out everything.
