I stand corrected, but I also choose to see a tinge of jealousy there too :woot:.
Fair enough =] but even if there was a tinge there, I still believe that up until Dany saving Jon, her feelings for him were way stronger than his feelings for her.
Which is why next ep is going to be EPIC :woot:.
ah, please don't post spoilers if you've read/seen them already

That's not true either. Ned's parents are cousins and Sansa was warm to the idea of marrying her cousin Robin. There are also historical cases of Stark uncles marrying their nieces. So aunt/nephew isn't even bad by Northern standards.
Never knew about Ned's parents and so forth...then Dany/Jon all the way :woot:.
However, everybody is talking about how Jon will react to finding out about Dany; but there's WAY more for him to digest.

When he inevitable learns the truth, he's gonna be so effed up, because...his whole life was a lie. He was raised to believe he was the son of Ned Stark and a bastard, the bastard of Winterfell when really, he was the product of a war that Prince Rhaegar Targaryen - his biological father - started. And resulted in the death of his own beloved mother who he never got to know but was raised in spirit by his uncle, who will always truly be his real father.

Nah, Jon is going to go through some sort of depression at first learning about it.
Agreed, it'll take some time for Jon to digest everything.

I didn't read any spoilers, I just assumed it might happen since Jon and his hand made it known to Dany last ep that he cares for her romantically :woot:.

but, I think you are right. Eventually I think Jon will be accepting the fact that he's committing incest, BUT, he will be taken aback at first because he has to realize he wasn't having sex with a stranger but with his own kin.

Yep, but Dany will be overjoyed so maybe she will help him feel better (in her own ways)

I wonder how a. the rest of his family will feel about Dany becoming his girlfriend and b. obviously what will the rest of his family think when they realize he is not only their cousin not their half brother, but also a Targaryen and the rightful heir to the iron throne and rightful king of the 7 kingdoms

-I'm sure Dany will comfort him with the info that incest is a Targaryen tradition, so it's all good. Yes, Dany will be overjoyed knowing she's not the last Targaryen. Just saw a Dany/Jon scene in ep 3 and you're right, Dany was first to have feelings for Jon since she starting to see similarities between Jon and what Barristan Selmy said about Rhaegar.
-Jon's cousin will be fine with it all.
-Agreed, this week is draaaaaging.

Most if not all people that I see talking about it, say that Dany will actually be mad about Jon being the true heir because that takes her right to the throne away, but I don't understand that...she knows she has to get married, and she's in love with Jon, so wouldn't her finding out that he's the true heir be more of a win win situation?

Also Jon has no interest in being King. Or at least we've seen no evidence of it thus far. Heck he didn't even want to be KITN. He only agreed to it because the Northern Lords insisted and there was no one else. And he was more than willing to go off personally to meet with Dany and leave Sansa in charge of running the North.

That, too. Yeah Jon never expected to become LC of the Night's Watch, he never expected to be King in the North, but when he received that power, he used it to do what he thought was right and honorable. As LC he kills the Janos Slynt who's deserved to die since season 1 (even though Jon didn't know that), then he saves about 2,000 wildlings.

As KITN he has everybody, boys and girls train for the winter war. He's not going around demanding respect from everyone. He's doing what every good king should do, looking to make the right decisions for the betterment of his kingdom and the people in it.

So he'll go from LC to KITN to King of Westeros even though he never wanted all this power. And Dany will happily marry him with the announcement

Jonsa fandom you guys....I'd link straight up terrifying and hilarious post here but I can't because of swearing. It's one of the new additions on reddit/freefolk

I actually thought that pairing could happen based on George's original outline for ASOIAF (which had [blackout]Jon Snow and Arya falling in love[/blackout]). It also had a certain logic to it since this way they could both rule in the North if Jon wanted to stay up there post-Targaryen reveal.

BUT I never wanted to see that, and I am happy that it appears likely the show is avoiding it now. Mind you for a relationship that biologically is even more questionable, but Game of Thrones is what it is, I suppose.

I still think Jon is living on borrowed time. Once he defeats the NK and his crew, I feel like he will die some how. Yes, he will have incest children with Dany, but he will never live to see them imo.

I'm 50/50 on whether Jon makes it out alive.

What Loki said :) And Jon would easily give up the crown to her.

Same here. I think his sole purpose is to defeat the Night King. Once thats done, his time is up. They really shouldnt wrap up this series in a happy little bow. Thats not what GoT is and never has been. I think it would be incredibly cheesy to end it with Jon and Dany married, in love and having children. I think there can and will be a bittersweet tragedy

"Author George R.R. Martin was asked if he had a resolution or ending to the seemingly endless conflict. He jokingly replied that the next book would just be a description of a cloud of dust or snow being driven by the wind across a vast graveyard full of tombstones." I don't think he's joking about the this ending though.

There’s no secret that this is where this is going. Readers of the book have known that things were heading towards this destination for a while. Even the characters in this story know it’s heading in this direction. Tyrion is making fun of Dany about what’s brewing. So we knew it’s got to come at some point, and I was glad that I got to be there for a major step forward for them. The fact that Jon’s willing to now bend the knee to her as the next queen is a huge political step. The fact that they are starting to fall for each other is huge. It comes down to tiny moments and how they interact with each other. They’re holding hands and there’s this great look where she’s swooning and she steps back from it, but it’s clear that that’s our destination at this point.

I woudnt mind that. How ironic if after 8 seasons of various factions fighting over the throne, they all kill each other

I must admit that I didn't see them coming until this season because I like Dany/Drogo, and now I much prefer Dany/Jon.
yup, same. I haven't read the books yet, just the show, and it was by...season 5 or 6 that I've been wanting Jon & Dany to get together and the entire time I didn't know they were related.

I didnt know either but man...i liked those touching little moments where they held hands. Cute. Lol.

that whole scene, Dany's behavior and interaction with Jon, with her sounding so vulnerable "I hope I deserve it" she hasn't sounded like that since season 1. Jon's really gotten to her.

Well since season 3, anyway. Once she started conquering cities, she was able to bury that softer side with "I'm the breaker of chains, *****es!"

I actually do think they are in an awful hurry to get Jon and Dany together. I do wish the season was longer on that count too since I think there could be a little more natural progression to that very Arthurian scene we ended up with on Sunday. But the next stop is much more GRRM than Arthur, I suspect. :sly:

I'm 50/50 on whether Jon or Dany will survive until the end. And if one of them doesn't, then I'm 50/50 on which one of them will die.

You know it'd be kind of funny if Sam shows up shortly after, and not only do we get the awkward "oh hey, I'm the son and brother of the two guys you BBQ-ed recently" thing, but he also reveals the whole "Jon, you just banged your aunt" thing to.

Word whenever it is that she started to build confidence; I've been seeing her gain it since season 1, though. And in the last scene we saw her with Jon she lost a lot of it and sounded humble.

And yeah, with the pacing this season it can look like Jon & Dany getting together feels rushed, but ask yourself: how many episodes did it take to built the Dany x Drogo romance? The Robb x Talisa romance? Jon x Ygritte?

Some are longer than others but it's usually within the same season.
