A song of ice and fire = Jon Snow & Dany?

Do you want to see Dany and Jon get together, hook up, marry, have a child, etc?

The thing is, people are saying "well the Targaryen's practices incest before," and this is true. BUT, it wasn't played up as a GOOD idea, it tended to drive the mad at times. And Dany has finally seemingly accepted that her father was a terrible king and kind of a psycho and wants to do better than he did.

So the question is, would Jon and Dany be ok with it personally, especially since in Jon's case, he doesn't know about his true parentage and wasn't raised as a Targaryen?

If they MUST go this route, then Jon and Dany doing the nasty BEFORE finding out that they're related would probably be the best bet imo. It's still creepy and awkward, but slightly less so.

yeah, direct bloodline incest is shown wrong on all counts but cousin incest is generally deemed acceptable. Ned's parents were cousins, Sansa was warm to the idea of marrying Robin Arryn, and Tywin also married his cousin.

As long as it's not brother/sister like Jaime/Cersei or father/daughter like Craster/Gilly, in Westeros it seems okay.

This is all still a fictional story based on medieval Europe though, where familial/incestuous marriages probably did take place. Personally I'm not into that stuff, but I do know people whose parents are cousins, they're respectable, social people so who am I/we to judge?

Maybe not, but it still feels kind of gross.

I'm still holding out hope that Jon and Meera will hook up. It feels like a huge longshot, but for some reason, I think they'd make a good couple.

As for Dany... I'm not sure who is worthy of her. Jon would be if they weren't related. Maybe the Hound will fall in love with her since she's immune to fire, lol.

Is there a league table of levels of incest out there? :woot:

I don't know but I think It would go something like this:

LEVEL 1: HORRIFYING! BURN IT! BURN IT WITH FIRE!
Parent/Offspring
Grandparent/Grandchild

LEVEL 2: VOMIT-INDUCING
Sibling/Sibling

LEVEL 3: GROSS
Uncle or Aunt/Nephew or Niece

LEVEL 4: ICKY
Cousin/Cousin

LEVEL 5: KINDA ICKY
Distant Cousin/Distant Cousin

Bran and Meera should hook up.

It's really amazing that the two most obvious romantic pair-ups for Jon (Dany and Sansa), both involve his relatives.

I mean him and Sansa would be slightly less creepy (being merely cousins), IF not for the fact that they were raised as brother and sister and see each other as such.

I get a brother/sister vibe from him and Sansa, I like it that way though. I thought one of the coolest moments from season 6 was him whoopin on Ramsay in front of her. I felt like I was watching someone beat up a dude who had wronged his sister.

Haha, damn now it's official. Everyone will be checking to see how they rated.

My Rankings would be similar:

OH MY EYES, IT BURNS, MAKE IT STOP:

-Brother/Sister.
-Parent/Child.
-Grandparent/Grandchild.

INCREDIBLY CREEPY:

-Aunt/Uncle and Nephew/Niece.

CREEPY, but somewhat less so (being a student of history):

-Cousin/Cousin.

Kind of Creepy, but far less so:

-Distant cousins/relatives.

Yeah. Poor Jon. There's no shortage of beautiful women in Westeros but the two he's going to have the most interactions with over the next two seasons are relations.

Well, there's always Melisandre. I know she's evil and twisted and the heir to Jon's throne would be a shadow demon but... what a ride.

yeah I'm not sure finding out the person whom you thought was your half-sister for your entire life is now actually only your cousin really gets the train to sexy town, but we'll see.

Him and Sansa would be worse in my opinion

Throw the Night King in for a threesome and it should balance out.

Lmao

Well...that certainly was an interesting read. I had no idea they were kinda related...uh...something i didn't pick up on i guess.

The thought of Jon and Dany? Yuck, no way! It's sick enough knowing about the twins. Personally, I still think Dany will get with Jamie.

I think that you might have missed the second part of my comment, which actually addresses that.

the mere fact that they're cousins isn't what's bad about them to me, it's the fact that they grew up as brother and sister.

i know people in real life whose parents are cousins. they're normal, social, decent people. so are we to judge

Your positive attitude is a refreshing change from the normal reaction I get from my fellow subway passengers.

I think this last episode made it pretty obvious, if it wasnt already, that a "Song of Ice and Fire" will be written by Sam to detail the history and reign of "Jon Snow".

Dany is a red herring and will likely end up being seen as a villain.

1. She won't take kindly to Jon's claim being stronger than hers.
2. As Tywin always says, anyone that must say "I am the Kiing" is no true king. Who fits that the best? Who is being put into leadership roles over and over reluctantly? Only Jon Snow. He doesnt need to remind everyone over and over again about who he is and what is "his".

A Song of Ice and Fire is definitely a poetic title.

D&D are totally the guys to do the obvious thing. Ironically, that kind of makes them unpredictable.

One thing I noticed these last couple of episodes is that Cersei, Stannis, Dany, even Renly have all demanded that others kneel to them.

Jon, in the first episode of the season, asked Lord Umber and Lady Karstark to stand.
