1. Raid 2

3. Winter Soldier
4. Quicksilver
5. Snowpiercer

All were great, but action wise The Raid obliterates everything. That's what it's there for.

Also surprised no mention of Godzilla. You would have figured given the way people were talking during that time.

I just collected the 8 most nominated guys, it's not a case of me leaving anything off on purpose.

Train carriage fight for Snowpiercer seems a bit vague, seeing as how the entire movie takes place on a train...

Too many Hype people watch too few action movies it seems!

Or maybe it's just that for a long time now people have gotten sick of regular folk doing impossible stuff in these movies and their filmmakers just expecting us to buy it. At least with superhero action in movies there's an in-universe explanation for all that BS, any you know about it before you even choose to see the movie. At least that's why I don't give the time of day to stuff like the John Wick, or the Raid & the Fast & Furious franchises.

John Wick isn't really that over the top. It's actually quite old school style action. In a way it's like Captain America. Swift and straight to the point, nothing fancy.

But it is expertly shot and choreographed. Plus it's just got a great minimalist and unpretentious story. You're missing out on a great film by not giving John Wick a chance.

A lot of these are so different it seems wrong to compare them. But that said I loved the Cap/Winter Soldier and, of course, the Quicksilver scene.

The opening to Days of Future Past is great as well.

The momemnt i read the title of the thread, it taught ''Docking scene''

Amazing action, drama and music in that scene. Perfect.

But the list is very thin. Where are films such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Godzilla, Spider-Man 2, Maleficent, Transformers 4, Hunger Games 3, Hobbit 3, Fury and more?

No electro power plant fight form amazing spider man 2? and no car chase form cap 2? Those where the 2 best fights of the year but out of these I have to go with cap 2 winter solider free way fight.
ASM2 had some fantastic action scenes. It's criminal that they're not on this list. The Hobbit had some great action scenes as well.

Plus it doenst use CGI to create its action, its all in camera, so you know its not regular folk doing impossible stuff.

There was a nomination thread. The 8 most popular got put into this poll.

Not a fan of Die Hard?
If I thought too much about them, even superhero movies can be considered unwatchable BS.

I need to watch that movie, ASAP.

John Wick isn't really that over the top.....
....You're missing out on a great film by not giving John Wick a chance.

I voted for it because it was pleasant surprise to see such well choreography. It is not the violence but the artistry and seamlessness of John Wick why I sometimes push for R ratings in violent movies in stead of the Jason Bourne/Transporter, PG-13 editing crap.

Cap escapes the Triskelion - Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Torn between the car chase in Cap, and Quicksilver. I guess I'll go with X-Men since it was a unique sequence that elicited an overwhelmingly positive reaction from every audience I saw the film with...

 Die Hard made it's name by going the other way. John McLane isn't a Sly or Arnie style superman-without-actually-being-Superman type. It was the DH sequels where they eventually turned him into that, not the first movie.

Dude lost half his blood in the first movie and killed a whole gang.
Not the other two's level of super, but still super.

That's an exaggeration. He got his feet cut up pretty bad and they paid it off with the amount of attention they gave to it as a subplot. Other than that he just got punched a bunch of times and that's all until the last 5 minutes or so when the long-haired guy shoots him in the shoulder. Now if he'd been shot in the shoulder early on in the movie and then just "toughed it out" for the full movie that would be some serious BS.

But like the ending of Jaws, when you've had enough realism and bought yourself enough audience goodwill for 95% of your movie you can get away with stretching it for that last 5%(I think that's something like what Spielberg told Peter Benchley on Jaws before he had him ejected from the set).

And keep in mind, this getting tired of movie heroes being superhuman in all but the name is a cumulative thing. Earlier on it wasn't as annoying back in the 1980's or what not. But over decades and decades of doing it I can fully understand how people can be fed up with it by now. I sure am.

I voted for Snowpiercer.

Interstellar's docking scene, and Agent Fury car chase, are close seconds.

I Know a lot of people like the quicksilver thing and while I like it its overrated has ever fight in asm2 was better and just about ever fight in cap 2 was better and has much hate has amazing spider man 2 gets for the movie being chessy I found the quicksilver since to be far more chessy then any thing in asm2.

I haven't seen Intersteller or John Wick yet. Both are on my future queue list for Netflix.

But I've seen the rest and all of them are better than anything in TASM2.
