Warhammer asked me to put this thread up for him as he is away, he collected the nominations from the hype posters in a separate thread and these were the 10 most nominated, so vote away folks. :woot:

    Mmmmmmmmmm, just don't know ....

In my humble opinion its been a year to forget, many of the big summer event movies were a let down (Spidey3) ... others were ok but nothing fantastic (Die Hard 4).

I really liked Bourne and No country for Old Men but this year my vote goes to Mr Bay and his dumb but VERY fun Transformers.

For just over two hours I was totally entertained and thats the point of going to see a movie.

i'd say American Gangster. great, great movie with great performances and amazing direction by mr. Scott.

honorable mentions to Zodiac, No Country for Old Men, and 3:10 to Yuma

Transformers was the most fun I had at the movies, but Sweeney Todd was the best movie of the year for me. Great preformances, direction, story, and of course the music, everything about it was spot on.

I voted for 3:10. Admittedly I haven't seen them all, but of what I have seen that got as close to a perfect cinematic experience for me.

    Zodiac
    Fascinating, beautifully-shot movie.

    And runner-ups:
    Hot Fuzz
Inventive, badass and a hell of a lot of fun.
    The Bourne Ultimatum
Perfect visit to the cinema. Nail-biting, unbearable tension and unrelentless pacing. The best of the series.

    No Country for Old Men.

It was a tough decision betweeen that, Sweeney, and Hot Fuzz. My personal faves.

For me, it was "Sweeney Todd" followed closely by "Superbad".

    I picked:
    No Country for Old Men
After that movie I would of picked:
    Bourne Ultimatum
    3:10 to Yuma

I could'nt even consider Transformers, as I thought it was overrated film. It was like 300 all flash and no substance, though 300 I thought was more entertaining than Transformers.

While I know it kind of doesn't count, Grindhouse was the best theatre experience I had this year. It's probably the only one that I will actually carry with me over the next few years.

I'm going to have to throw my vote No Country's way, however, as it best exemplified everything a best film should. American Gangster is close, though.

P.S.: Where is the love for Eastern Promises???

Tough poll, I had to go with American Gangster, just a great movie overall with great acting from Washington, Crowe and Brolin, very, very close would be Zodiac, No Country for Old Men, Eastern Promises and 3:10 to Yuma.
