Not many nominations this year so I've cut the poll from 8 to 5 as these were the only ones that got more than one nomination. The poll will be open for 5 days so vote away! :)

For me MI:6's helicopter chase takes this easily ( and is easily the best action film of 2018) -IMO nothing beats practical special effects.

While Dr Strange and the gang vs Thanos was great, and everything a comic book action sequence should be IMO sheer insanity of Tom Cruise's stunts from MI:6 put it in a different class.

Tom Cruise took it to another level in Fallout, I didn't want to make multiple nominations from the same movie but after the Helicopter chase I thought the Paris chase was the second best action sequence of the year. and the foot chase where he broke his ankle was pretty great too.

The Helicopter sequence gets my vote though, it was totally unique with Cruise flying himself, and the fight part of it between Ethan and August Walker was great, best finale to any action movie this year.

110% agree with this.

That motorcycle scene was crazy - they had just an hour to get that footage in the circle... needless to say a lot could have easily went wrong and it's impossible to tell from how magnificently it was shot that it was all basically "let's do this, let's get what we can and work with whatever we get."

Having seen the traffic firsthand around the Arc Dr Triomphe, I can say that riding a motorcycle around it, the wrong way, even under controlled conditions is madness. I feel like MI:6 needs some sort of special awards for its stunts- and including the shot of Cruise pulling himself up and running off...with a broken ankle ! That's Jackie Chan level commitment.

The whole Kashmir sequence was shot down here near Queenstown. Apparently when Cruise did the fall from the chopper onto the payload hanging below the stunt guys gasped because they thought he'd broken his back. Again, real insanity.

I have no idea how Cruise can top this, if an MI:7 comes along.

Not just broken his back, for a moment they thought he died.

Not to nitpick too much but I have to think some cars were CGI'd into the scene to intensify the moment.

These guys are professionals they know what works (CGI cars and trucks)

They're not that crazy to have 15 cars zooming past it's "A" list start

8 maybe? Okay that's within optimal safety standards

In Rogue Nation they CGI'd more cars and trucks on the highway than when they were filming

And the winner of SHH action sequence of the year 2018 is the Helicopter chase from Mission: Impossiple - Fallout! :applaud
