It was tough to choose between the Rogue Nation Bike/Car chase and the Canyon sequence, so Mad Max got my vote for backing that sequence up with a whole movie's worth of sequences on or nearly on that level.

It's not the most elaborate action sequence in the movie, but my favorite is the canyon battle in Mad Max: Fury Road.

It's got a great old-school Western "raiding the stagecoach" vibe to it, and it works character development organically into the action, with the teamwork between Max and Furiosa and them really working together for the first time and pointing guns at people besides each other.

Someone compared it to FR's equivalent of a love scene t:

That's exactly what it reminded me of, the raiders on the bikes attacking the War Rig were like the Apache's attacking the Stage Coach.

It is also the winning sequence! Impressive stuff given the movie came out way back in May, I was sure the Rey vs Kylo Ren duel would win, goes to show how much Fury Road has stuck with people.
