Adam McKay to take on Dick Cheney in “Vice” (Bale, Adams, Rockwell)

I guess, in this political climate, a biopic about this a**hole might actually be considered decent escapism. :o

I hope he approaches it in a similar fashion as his best film, The Big Short.

Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Amy Adams Circling Adam McKay’s Dick Cheney Film http://deadline.com/2017/04/dick-cheney-movie-christian-bale-steve-carell-amy-adams-adam-mckay-paramount-1202062739?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter …

The Big Short’s Adam McKay has found what he hopes will be his cast for his untitled film about Dick Cheney at Paramount Pictures. Christian Bale is his choice for Dick Cheney, Steve Carell is the choice for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and Amy Adams is the choice for his wife Lynne Cheney.

Now it’s up to Paramount to cast the vote on a green light. It seems an intriguing and gutsy movie for a studio trying to regain its footing under new chairman Jim Gianopulos.

Bale? Man....I'm assuming they're gonna pull an American Hustle type deal with the makeup and whatever.

Well, that's.... interesting. Personally, I'd wanted Jason Alexander to play Cheney.

Amy Adams and Christina Bale reunion after The Fighter and American Hustle is my jam. :awesome:

They're also hoping to shoot it in the next few months for a 2017 release. Can't see that happening IMO.

Richard Dreyfuss wasn't bad as Cheney in that W. biopic from what I remember. But I really can't see Bale in the role. I could picture someone like Gary Oldman in the role before him.

I can't see Bale in this role at all. Extremely odd choice.

We're all doubting the casting choice, but watch him accept the role and win another goddamn Oscar for it. :o

If we're talking George W.-era Cheney, I can't see this at all and am puzzled why they wouldn't cast older.

Younger Cheney, though...

Eh, still can't see it.

Maybe we could be seeing a younger Cheney in parts of this movie and they'll be using a make up for the older scenes.

Having read up on what McKay said, It's a biopic and so will tell Cheney's younger years right up to the Bush years.

Any way you slice it, the scene where Cheney shoots his friend in the face and then makes the guy publicly apologize to him should be quite something.

I can't see see the resemblance either but hey I'll pay for any Bale/Adams reunion... :funny:

We'll see if even pans out. Bale dropped out of W because he didn't like how the prosthetics turned out so this might end up being the same thing.
