Adult Animated Films?

I was really into the animated series (BTAS & B-BEYOND) as a kid, and would like to see more films in the tradition of MOTP or ROTJ. But i think it would be great if they were more "adult" i.e. blood and death, adult language, real consequences to characters' actions. They could even use the old team, or bring in a new one with new character designs.

Thoughts?

Yes. I'd like to see The killing joke, The man who laughs, or something like Batman Arkham Asylum (game or comic version) with mark hamill and kevin conroy.

or one of the other non joker dark stories.

those would all be good, though i'd prefer original stories over adaptations
