Manapul's art is awesome. I'm looking forward to this series. I've been a bit removed from the Superman mythos for a while now because I'm not a fan of the return of the Kryptonians and all, but Conner + Legion (hopefully with the non-duplicate members of the 2nd and 3rd Legions still around after Legions of 3 Worlds) = win.

That art is SUCH a bummer. Man, the cover is atrocious, the figure work is awkward, everything's really static and motionless...wow. Manapul has been so much better than that.

i don't think it's that bad...but i'd definitely love to see him drawn by mckone, churchill, and/or daniel again.

The cover's the only dodgy thing to me. Lex and Clark's faces are both pretty awkward. But the interiors look pretty solid. I don't find the figures awkward at all.

i thought the same. the cover looks pretty amateurish. but i was digging on the interiors.

Don't get me wrong I love Jim Lee, my favorite artist, but im seriously not liking that everyone is trying to "copy" his style. Let Jim Lee be Jim Lee. I like Shane Davis, but thats it, he adds something unique just look at his work in S/B and Rage of the Red Lanterns.

I was introduced to Manapul's work via the recently expired Legion of Superheroes run. Faces definitely aren't one of his strong points, but I felt that he more than made up for that in other areas. Especially considering all of the different characters he was drawing in each issue. The art in this preview looks fairly decent. Every Superman artist isn't going to be a Gary Frank or a John Byrne. I may check this out, although I'm slowly reaching critical mass in regards to my monthly comics budget...

DC recently revealed that the currently running mini-series Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds will lead into Adventure Comics Vol. 2, featuring the Legion of Super-Heroes and starting with a new issue #1. The creative team of Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul debuted with a backup story in February's Adventure Comics #0.[1] After the release of Legion of 3 Worlds #4, Johns was able to reveal that the new series will feature the Conner Kent incarnation of Superboy, alongside the Thom Kallor Starman and a co-feature with the Legion of Super-Heroes. The estimated release according to Johns is August, 2009[2]

I'm liking this so far only I wish they would get him a proper costume I hate the jeans and tshirt look myself.
