After nearly 20 years, TBS is no longer airing Saved by the Bell.

It's a very sad and depressing day for all fans of Saved by the Bell.

I thought the show was cancelled years ago?

They've been airing the repeats ever since, and I guess TBS was one of the few channels doing so. Although, does this really warrant a petition to keep it on the air? There are A LOT of shows I'd like to see in syndication that aren't, and furthermore, aren't available on DVD, which I believe Saved By The Bell actually is.

Just about everything with the name Saved By The Bell on it is available on DVD. Besides I think the Miss Bliss stuff

Saved by the Bell has become a pop culture success for multiple generations because it aired on TBS for 20 years. It represented a prime example of how to keep a TV show alive. As you mentioned, there are shows which are not even on television anymore and that's most likely because there wasn't a channel willing to keep it alive. TBS and SBTB had a very unique partnership and to see it abruptly end after two decades is a bit shocking. It's the end of an era.

Is there a reason why they arent airing it anymore? Maybe its time for it to move onto TvLand.

Where is lark voorhies.. I want some Lisa..

I was upset when TBS quit playing The Andy Griffith Show.

I used to watch syndicated Good Morning Ms Bliss at 7am before school and then Saved by the Bell when I got home. It's incredible they even lasted this long.

A show that I haven't seen in awhile that I loved to watch was California Dreams. I don't think it's on anymore. :csad:

California Dreams was ridiculous...then again, so was Saved by the Bell.

But I love SBTB. California Dreams was pretty lame to me.

I specifically remember the episode from that show when the entire group confronted a gang member and scared him off...

Even at 8 years old, i was like "Riiiiiiiiiight. Like a banger is gonna get scared off by a bunch of teenagers who sing in a band."

don't get me wrong, i like Home Improvement, but Saved By The Bell was one of the very first shows i remembered getting into when i was a child. hell, Kelly Kapowski (Tiffany Amber Thiesen) was my first crush. speaking of which, one of the episodes of Married With Children that aired last night on TBS had Tiffany Amber Thiesen in it where she played a girl Bud had a thing for.

anyway, it sucks they aren't showing SBTB anymore. i'm actually kind of surprised a network like Nick At Nite or Fox Family haven't picked it up.

FOX Family doesn't exist anymore. It's ABC Family now. As for another network airing the show, I would keep my eye on Teen Nick (formally The N). They aired the series a few years back.

BUMP!

Hey guys it seems that MTV2 is airing Saved By The Bell early mornings back to back with Boy Meets World.

Am I the only person of my generation who always thought Saved By The Bell was a really bad show?

Yes....well, actually, it depends on your generation.

I actually grew up on Saved by the Bell. Yes, it was corny, but it was fun. Zach Morris was the guy everyone wanted to be. It was pure escapist nonsense. Yeah, it was in retrospect a pretty bad show....but it was passable for the time.

It seems like its resurgence in popularity however, isn't from people who watched it and took it at face value. It is people who were still in diapers during its original run who basically watch it in some failed attempt to be ironic and trendy. These are the types who wear the "I'm so excited....I'm so scared," T-shirts. So yeah, if you're part of that generation, you're not the only one.

It makes you wonder....these kids who are watching it now grew up on Power Rangers and the likes and overlooked the flaws of those shows. But in five years will 20-something college aged hipsters be wearing "It's morphin' time!" shirts?

Eh, it was something to watch before Soul Train. :o

I grew up on Power Rangers but I still watched Saved by the Bell when it was on. I remember more of the later episodes plus the college years and the new class.

I remember wanting Zack's cellphone. And I thought it was cool that he had a mini fridge in his bedroom.
