I'd immediately say that I'd want JK Simmons to continue on as Jameson but I want Topher Grace as Peter.

CGI has improved so much that they can do a lot of it faster and cheaper so doing a Spidey live action show would be easy for Hollywood.

Just need to find the right MJ.

I think Aunt May from the films would be a good carry-over as well.

Yes. Yes. OMFG YES!!! I think TV is the perfect medium for Spidey. After reading books like "The Ultimate Spider-man" and "Untold Tales of Spider-man" I was thinking how cool an anthology series would be. Switching around to different points in Peter's life, while allowing for a greater range of stories, might confuse viewers, though. It may be too boring for some, but Peter David's short story, "5 Minutes" from the aformentioned "The Ultimate Spider-man", would make a great pilot. It takes place on Pete and MJ's first anniverary and perfectly illustrates what she has to go through being married to Spider-man. It also shows the difficulty Pete has in, as Aunt May put it in SM3, "putting his wife before himself". This post has kind of rambled, but I've been thinking about this for years. I even thought of a title. "Amazing!: The Untold Tales of Spider-man". Actually, THAT book has a great story where a super-strong, crazed John Doe is admitted to an emergency psyche ward babbling about "The Hunter". Great stuff!

Really, I don't think they even need to use a lot of CGI. For web-swings, yeah totally understandable, but it's over-used a lot. Cast-wise, though I'd certainly prefer the film cast, I think we all know probably none of them would do it.

If they ever did make one, when Spider-Man is in the suit, they would have to definitely get a very skilled gymnast and martial artist so the fights look great because the movie fights are kind of dull to what they should be and way too much CG is in it. For example, the movie fights are great, but not so good that I'm like "whoa that's amazing", but when I watch Tony Jaa or some of the cool moves in the Matrix, it's mesmerizing.

Does anyone know Marvel's stance on fan films?

a live spidey series sounds good

As far as I understand, Achron, if you are not attempting to make any money from the film, then it is no different from fan fiction. Just a story to share with your friends, told by different means. I do agree, though, that the movies have really been focusing on CG-laden super-battles. Is it so wrong to throw in some thugs?
