Mine would be a good bit different. It'd be an origin series and high school drama, along with a few other angles thrown in. I'd basically do everything, and let big bad guys have big story arcs (1/3rd of the season, ~6 eps) and only do them once, so you could get movie-level actors for limited six week engagements. It'd be cool, and fun.

PETER PARKER - SPIDER-MAN
Peter Parker is more than a little nerdy, he is an out and out utter geek. He knows his Monty-Python, he understands phasers in Star Trek, he know the Jedi Code by heard, he's a nerd. He's also a geek, and a very smart one: he replaces his motherboard and uses ip masking, he knows Pi to ten places, he does chemistry in his basement for fun. He's also a social train wreck, and utterly unconfident when it comes to dealing with people. No wonder when he gets a chance to be himself, without fear of social reprecussions, he becomes a loud mouthed, smack talking b-tard. His sense of humor is absolutely off the wall, and it's one of the most charming things about him for the few people that get close enough to actually get to know Peter.
GWEN STACY - GIRL NEXT DOOR
Gwen Stacy is a bit of an overachiever. She works hard, she studies hard, and she is always trying to impress someone. She is a bit too bookish and between her glasses and frumpy out of date clothes, she tends to fall on the outcast side of things. Especially since her father reguarly breaks up parties she attends, him being an overprotective police captain. She is one of the few people that regularly reaches out to Peter, and who openly questions the validity of Spider-Man. Her resourcefulness and stubbornness make her a force to be reckoned with, and useful ally.
MARY JANE WATSON - THE IT GIRL
Mary Jane lives life to the fullest, in the moment. She is incredibly intuitive, empathic and absolutely fearless. Her ability to command attention has as much to do with her attitude as her looks. The definition of unconventional, a rebel, and utterly vocal. Mary Jane actually has the toughest time at home, dealing with people, but you'd never be able to tell. She is always performing, and houses and controls some of the most intense and beastial anger a body her age can house. Coulpled with her fearlessness and incredible luck, Mary Jane is a force of nature.
MAY REILLY PARKER - IF OBI-WAN WERE YOUR MOTHER
May Parker is one of the most angry women alive, but you wouldn't know it from talking to this genuine hard working woman, trying to make ends meet since her husband passed. Often the 'straight' half of their comedy duo, May has the hardest time coping, and relies on Peter as her main source of joy and her biggest and most important asset, two motivations that often come into conflict. Her advice is always solid, but it's never what you want to hear. With her government contacts, May is a bit of a sleeping giant.
HARRY OSBORNE - CONSUMATE RICH KID
Harry Osborne thinks he's a movie star. He lives in blissful ignorance of all negativity, strife and struggle. He loves doing what he does, and while he can be cruel, he always does what he thinks is best. He's a genuinely confident person, and comically naive in some cases. His mind for money, however, is sharp. He was trained very well, and it shows. He has reason to be confident. Driving a Ferrari to school doesn't hurt either. What's scariest about Harry is that he may be onto more than he lets on, a lot more. He's thought of highly by many, but the idea that he may be badly underestimated, even by his father, should give anyone pause.
NORMAN OSBORNE - IDEALISTIC OPPORTUNIST
Norman, on the other hand, is not naive. He's a bit more cognizant of how the world works. He's also very serious about changing it for the better, and shaping it in the wake of more and more dramatic changes. He is also on the lookout for young moldable talent. He keeps an eye on Peter, Gwen and his own son especially, and intervenes to shape their lives, provide them with opportunities, even. His Company, Oscorp is a military contractor with a huge R&D budget. They've been flying the 'transforming warfare' banner for some time now, in competition with Stark Industries and a few others.
J. JONAH JAMESON - BOISTROUS WATCHDOG
JJ is the mouthpeice, for just about everything, but definitely for the city of New York. He lambasts Spider-Man at nearly every turn, and doesn't go much softer on Peter. The only person he seems to be nice to are his Deputy Editor Robert Robinson, and his wife, who is always off screen. His reasoning, is pretty spot on, about unsupervised law enforcement, and the reprecussions of allowing someone to do what Spider-Man does. He, Robby and Betty tend to act as commentary for current events.
Supporting Cast
FLASH THOMPSON - JACK@$$, JOCK, JUVENILLE DELINQUENT
Eugene is a peice of work. Pushed harder and farther by his working class parents, Flash lashes out at just about everything in his life. He's trying to prove himself, mostly to his old man, by being a man's man. Deep down, he's a broken poet, but this is an aspect that shows itself only once, and only briefly.
LIZ ALLAN - QUEEN BIA...
Liz is very forthright, and very pretty, and very popular. She comes off as a typical queen bee except she seems to have a sort of genre saavy, which she uses to her advantage ruthlessly. She's hiding from her insecurities, which, in total, are relatively minor, an aspect which she is aware of which makes her still more insecure. She keeps her trio, Mary Jane and Debra Whitman on a short leash, or at least tries to. It's much easier with the manipulable Debra.
CASSANDRA WEBB - GUIDANCE SCHMIDANCE
The new school Guidance Counselor is a bit... mystical? Cryptic? Creepy even? She's all those things, but she's also exceptionally intuitive and very interested in the life of Mary Jane Watson, feeling as the girl has a great destiny.
KENNY "KONG" MCFARLANE - SPIDEY FANBOI
Kenny is a bit of a comedian, intentionally or not, he brings the wildest theories to the front, but do not question his Spider-Man or his video games. He's very passionate about those things. He is a jock, operationally, but he's perhaps the most down to earth well adjusted kid at the school.
HOBERT BROWN - THE PROWLER
Hobie has been through a lot. He's got a lot on his plate, too, watching after his younger siblings, trying to put food on the table for them, keep his mom out of trouble as best he can, and of course, school. He has a lot of guilt, seeing has how he's the reason his mom dropped out of school, and a lot of anger at the world. When he happens to gain a stark stealth trooper prototype, he makes sure to take it out on the criminal world as the Prowler, but not before entering the right for some easy money. Hobie is perhaps the most mature, and most cynical, of his associates.
GLORIA GRANT - THE EARTHY GIRL
Very back to basics, insence, barefeet and counter-culture, Gloria is "mother nature" at Midtown High. Her approach to writing, and eventually, to her Bugle Internship that she and Peter get is equally as simple, natural and controversial. She's been through her fair share of drama, but tends to work things out internally.
DEBRA WHITMAN - THE DUMB BLONDE
Debra is a bit aloof at times. She's obviously very intelligent in reality, but her ability to process normal things is a bit... off. She seems to be an all in all good natured girl, and she cares, deeply, about her friends, but sometimes she just doesn't 'get it' to comical, and sometimes heartbreaking effect.
ROBBY ROBERTSON - THE MODERATE FORCE
Robby, as he's called, is an assistant editor at the Daily Bugle, a mid-size paper covering issues in Midtown Manhattan. He also is the Online Editor, and projects a somewhat moer liberal image for the paper online. He doe what he thinks is right, even at cost to himself, putting him at odds with Jonah more often than not. Despite their intense spats, the two men tend to respect each other a great deal.
BETTY BRANDT - COLLEGE CO-ED
Another internet at the Bugle, Betty is serious about the news buisness, runs a campus paper and often is the mediator and middle ground between Robby and JJ's arguments about content, stances and public relations. She's cemented a place for herself at the Bugle with the role. She thinks about Peter like a little brother, at first, and works with him on his Spider-Man stories for a while. She's a bit like the perfect woman, but she's also a few years older, and not all that intereted.
ADRIAN TOOMES - THE VULTURE
Adrian is an aeronautics tycoon who has cashed out for the health industry but wants back in the game. When his new startup starts making flight prototypes, he comes into conflict, and then partnership, with Oscorp. He's more of a traditional, old money millionaire, and has more in common with Harry than Norman. His jet pack technology ends up being used by mercenaries, and then by himself as it becomes addictive, as a thrill for the older man, who becomes progressively younger. Spider-Man attempts to stop him, only to fail several times in a row before 'getting it right.' He seeks to recapture his youth, and succeeds, but in the process, loses his life.
OTTO OCTAVIUS - DR. OCTOPUS
Octavius is a genius, to put it lightly. His intelligence is virtually unrivalled. His ingenuity in robotics is unsurpassed. Forgoing the bipedal appreach, Octavius is a pioneer in the tentacled robot, and when he suffers a leg injury that greatly impairs his ability to walk, he adapts this robot for his own needs. Driven by Osborn, however, he becomes pressed against a wall when Norman demands his flight platform, and resorts to illegal measures. Driven further by Osborn he outwits, overpowers and disables the authorities and eventually resorts to crime in relation to his research. He shares a bit of the bullied syndrome with Peter, making their interactions more layered and dynamic as Spider-Man becomes the bully, and then falls on the receiving end of a intelligent man that has been picked on but then receives great power. His trouncing of Norman Osborn's estate prompts Osborn to empower himself personally.
JEAN DEWOLFF - SOME DETECTIVE, RIGHT?
Jean is a detective in Captain Stacy's Division. She's exceptinally tough and street smart, and a little bit brutal with her methods. She doesn't take anything from anyone and hides a bevy of scars and anger.
BEN URICH - NOW THAT'S A REPORTER
Investigative Report Ben Urich is freelance, but also the Bugle's go-to guy. He doesn't pull many punches, and it's earned him a lot of enemies, but he has just a few friends, often odd ones that reliably give him the leads he needs.
BEN PARKER - WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY
Ben was an old CIA guy in the early days, he and his brother were inseperable and unstoppable. Richard had married fellow agent Mary Fitzpatrick and the two had had a son, while Ben tended to date around. It was all going so well. Then Richard died, and all the glory and fun left it almost instantly, especially with Richard being the cautious one, KIA in a classified op. The power that they had had came with a terrible price, one that Richard could have avoided if he hadn't been true to his cause, and to his country. Ben settled down with his longtime girlfriend, and adopted Richard's son. Over time, he grew to enjoy the simple life, and the old life seemed a million miles away. There were no secrets here, just the joy of his wife and a young intelligent son. Then, he began to see the old signs, secrets, terrible ones. Drugs, sex, gangs... he could pick those out of a crowd, but Peter was experiencing something different, something life changing. Ben never knew what it was, but he remembered what Richard had told him all those years ago before boarding that plane. "With Great Power, comes Great Responsibility."
