Comics After the SCHISM comes a REGENESIS!

Who's said that Uncanny or Wolverine and the X-Men or whatever other X-books will still be around will be strict team books?

Comments made by Aaron and Gillen. They make it seem like their books are going to be very distinct and separate, in terms of characters (teams), locations, tone, etc. And no one knows what the other books will be like yet.

Distinct and separate from each other was how I understood it, as fitting with the general idea of Schism - not that each book would have a very specific team membership of, say, five or six people who never change.

Definite casts, surely, because when Mom and Dad are mad at each other, some of the children go to live with one and some go to live with the other, and then nobody's talking anymore and the family has been ripped asunder and everyone is very sad. Weepy, even.

Wolverine, Rogue, Colossus and Kitty? I'm almost sold...

I just need Nightcrawler there :(

Heck, I guess I'm going back to buying new issues instead of focusing on back issues

X-MEN: REGENESIS #1
Written by KIERON GILLEN
Penciled by BILLY TAN
Cover by CHRIS BACHALO
Variant Cover by MORRY HOLLOWELL
When the dust settles from the X-Men’s Schism, a line has been drawn, and every mutant must choose. Who will they follow — XXXXXX or Wolverine? Either way, with mutantkind cut in two, things will never be the same. Setting the stage for this month’s WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN #1 and November’s all-new UNCANNY X-MEN #1, Kieron Gillen (UNCANNY X-MEN, JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY) and Billy Tan (UNCANNY X-FORCE, NEW AVENGERS) take us through the ranks of the X-Men as they choose their destiny.
40 PGS./One-Shot/Rated T+ …$3.99

i would find it really interesting if wolverine and the x-men was the hardcore superhero book mentioned above and uncanny turned into the something else, something darker... unlikely as that would be.

Well Schism in a way is showing that. As Wolverine wants the kids to be kids, Kid Omega to stand trial for what he did whereas Cyc sees the kids as X-Men and still Alienating himself from the rest of the MU by having Quetin's trial on Utopia. Wolverine has interacted more with the world as a whole for the past few years the Cyclops who has become a hardened general/tacistion. Their roles have somewhat changed.

I agree, and I wonder if Wolvie's standing in the Avengers will be effected by this storyline. I pretty much only read X stuff, but New Avengers is the only exception....but that is because Logan is on the team. If he goes I will most likely drop it.

I agree....so what is the Wolvie book going to be? I know there has been talk about Cap and the Avengers looking at Wolvie in a different way, but the storyline seems to be pointing to Logan doing the right thing....

So it sounds as though Cyclops [blackout]is probably moving on, maybe to the Avengers[/blackout]. I'm cool with that, actually. I'd actually like to see him get his own limited series, like maybe 6 issues, about him traversing the globe alone.

Where did you get that vibe from? While
Scott on the avengers
sounds fun this is the first I've heard of it.

Marvel has released its first teaser of the week, featuring a new creative team on "Generation Hope" and the addition of Sebastian Shaw to the cast. The Dale Keown-drawn image, featuring Shaw surrounded by other blacked-out characters, promotes the November-dropping issue 13 from writer James Asmus and artist Ibraim Roberson by encouraging fans to let loose with their X-title theories via a special Twitter hashtag: #XMenRegenesis.

This follows in the footsteps of last week's "Uncanny X-Men" and "Wolverine and the X-Men" teasers, both of which also featured a lone character surrounded by silhouetted teammates.

They want contoversy since it will get people to talk and pick up the book to see why this is happening esp since GH isn't exactly selling well and Lowe really wants it to work and last ala X-Factor and New Mutants.

He's on the cover there of that one issue where Cap is looking over photos, hence why I said "maybe". I wasn't implying some actual spoiler or leak from Marvel had dropped, just that it was possible from solicits (at the time I made the post). It seems to me [BLACKOUT]he's not dying, since the writer already said "moving on" and he seems like he's definitely part of Astonishing.[/BLACKOUT] I'd love to see him [BLACKOUT]boink Storm for starters, then maybe go on hiatus in Alaska again, but this time give him a mini. Give him his own supporting cast, completely new, maybe even strip him of a costume and just have it be more about him as a mutant without a secret identity. I think he's a far deeper character than people write him usually, and the times I've seen him really, really shine is on his own. I kind of wish he and Jean had retired a long time ago, and had stayed off on their own for a while.[/BLACKOUT]

Just read Schism #3. I enjoyed it. The tension between Scott and Logan keeps growing but I'm having a hard time believing this leads to any kind of all out fight between the two. Thus far, it looks like just another one of their little clashes in personality that would normally be swept under the rug. I'm hoping that IF/When they actually do throw down, it's properly provoked and there's a legit straw that breaks the camel's back.

I'm loving Schism and Emma stapping that 12 year old Hellfire kids finger is the most gangster thing she has done since murdering her own sister.

Seeing Magneto getting owned by a 12 year old was not cool though

That magnetar thing wouldn't work on Magneto any damn way :argh:

my favorite laugh out loud moment is when the girl says to Emma, "I hope I die before I get as old as you," and Emma responds, "That can be arranged". :D

The Hellfire Kids are like the best new villians to come about in a long time
