Comics Team Shuffles?

Since Astonishing X-Men is wrapping up soon, we all know that eventually there's going to be another team shuffle. Members from Astonishing will most likely be split into the Uncanny and adjectiveless teams and maybe those two titles will even switch some players too.

Could this be the new team in Uncanny X-Men?

And here's the cover for X-Men 202, perhaps Kitty and Pete move over to that team along with some of the New X-Men?

That cover has them because Carey likes to utilize a lot of the X-men who aren't in his roster. The adjectiveless team is said to be taken out by the Marauders (not killed though) except for Sam and Bobby. Presumably the Marauders chase them back to the mansion where Colossus and the New X-men fight them.

Yeah, it's not very likely that Carey would just take the New X-Men and make them his upcoming roster...

Though the first image could very well be a hint as to who is going to be on the Uncanny team.

I know Storm's supposedly returning to the X-fold, so she'll be somewhere too. And Marvel has said Gambit's going somewhere that's not limbo after the crossover too.

For the most part, I get the feeling that we're going to see a ton of mixed teams during the crossover itself, since we're supposed to see death and depowerment.

No, no, and no. Astonishing is not "wrapping up", it's not stopping when Whedon and Cassaday leave. That first image you link to is a part of the Endangered Species thing leading to the fall crossover, so of course it's going to have characters from more than one title. Same with the X-Men cover since Carey likes using all the characters he can.

I dont see how that cover is a sign of a shuffle. None of Carey's cast is in there and its only Kitty, Piotr and the New X-men

There's not going to be any major team shuffles before the x-event.

The AXM crew will probably guest star quite a few times in other books since they're busy doing other stuff in their book. That's it.

Plus that just isn't a couple of the new x-men, it' the entire roster, so it's unlikely that'll be the replacement team, but I do think it'd be nice to switch up the teams a bit, Astonishing has too many superstar characters and I think it needs to be balanced out a bit.

I am very excited to see all these characters contstantly working together, splitting up, teaming up, for this one major enemy and big event.

I hope the NXM kids get more mentoring after the summer event. Those kids seem to always be on their own and don't do much training like they should be.

really? If it wasnt for Mercury Rising, they could have fooled me. I hated how they demoted him when they took over and he had little to do until that arc, a full year later. I hope they continue to write for him but it looks like he's taken the backseat this arc for the other kids to get their chance to shine

Yeah he was demoted but I still think they like the character. They're just trying to establish Surge as a leader(and failing miserably).

Hellion rocked as leader. I can see him being like the Cannonball of this generation. They could have at least kept him on as a coleader like most of the teen mutant books did. For example NM had Dani and Sam, GenX had Husk and Synch and NM2, had Sofia and David. This squad could have have had Surge and Hellion

Surge was totally right is decking Julian though, seems like most the team's battles occur under her nose or behind her back.

thats the thing with having a big roster; the writers can be more free to kill off the kids. One thing I hated about Gen X is that it basically had the same roster from beginning to end. It was the same core 6 (5 when Synch died). They tried adding others like Mondo and Gaia, but they were never utilized, mainly stayed off panel and left quickly. I wish Gen X had been more like the New mutants as far as bringing in new people with lasting appeal
