Comics Help a new X-Men reader.

Hello all I jumped on board the X-Men with Regenesis.

Always loved teh cartoons and movies but Now i Wanna catch up on the comics but the amount of tie in and spin offs and crossovers has left me very confused.

so from the beginning til the present I've been trying to figure out a pathline to follow in chronological order.

so far I plan on buying
X-Men Omnibus Volumes 1 & 2
Marvel Masterworks Uncanny X-men Series

But it's here where x-men split into a franchise and becomes rather confusing.

I've tried to figure out the last decade and plan on getting
New X-Men Ultimate Collection Volumes 1, 2 and 3
Astonishing X-Men Omnibus by Joss Whedon
House of M
Messiah War
Second Coming
Birth of Generation Hope
Age of X (Is this in the correct place)
Schism

so if anyone could help me fill out my list especially regarding the 80s and 90s.
I was thinking about the 2 Chris Claremont omnibus books as well.
