Sci-Fi Alien: Romulus (2024)

Got tickets for Friday may go to the fan event on Thursday too.

The Alien franchise isn't as f***** up as Terminator's. Come on.

I don't think anyone was making that argument. Terminator only came up because Cameron was brought up. The Terminator franchise is in a far sorrier state than the Alien franchise, even when counting the AvP movies.

Terminator came up cause someone said that this has to be good cause Jamaes Cameron endorsed it, to which I replied essentially that is meaningless cause he endorsed 3 abysmal Terminator films. I dont think the Alien franchise has been as bad as the Terminator franchise, but it has a similar issue of after 2 great movies, the series has been unable to find its footing since.

Cool that they got the Stan Winston guys working on it.

I have tickets to an advanced screening on Wednesday. Definitely looking forward to it.

I'm really excited to see this in 3 days. My only apprehension with some of those early reviews is that the negativity kinda seeps through in some of the wording of them. It's very easy to say "The best one since Aliens" because some people discard the rest in the trash bin (personally I find things to like in most of them) and also Alien/Aliens are considered classics so nobody expect a new movie to hit that level. So simply saying "the best one since Aliens" feels like a statement that doesn't really say much at all about how good Romulus actually is. Because if you're one of those who thinks there hasn't been a good movie since Aliens then that might be very faint praise. :p
