What exactly is going to happen with these titles when Morrison and Miller leave them? Assuming the titles even stay around, that is. Are new writers going to come along and follow the same continuity, or will each new creative team have their own continuity?

From what I've heard, every story is in it's own continuity, from each writer that takes on the title.

Yeah, every creator has their own continuity.

I think they are announced as seasons rather than ongoing or miniseries.

Shame it takes Miller and Lee 12 years to complete a run.

I personally hope Morrison's run lasts a very, very long time. All Star Superman is currently my favorite DC title.

He said that it will only be twelve issues. And really, I don't think I'll mind too much when he leaves. I think the All Star imprint should, eventually, come to be a way for various writers to do their interpretations of the characters without the hinderence of any form of continuity besides that within the story they're writing.

You don't read enough DC.

I'm going through a phase. :csad:

Tommorow my favorite title will be Nightwing, then a week after that it'll be Morrison's Batman tied with 52. :o

I'd like All Star runs to be 12 issues and then they can collect the whole thing in nice Hardcovers.

Then I'd buy some All Star books.

If it runs longer than that it becomes ongoing continuity then, which defeats the whole point of the book.

Well, yes an no. Once the writer is done, his or her continuity would be aswell. If a writer has alot of ideas, it's a bit unfair to limit their run like that.

But I think that would make the interesting challenge, put out 12 issues of fantastic storytelling. The issues can be one story, 12 individual stories or four story arcs of three issues or whatever - doesn't matter at all. But you have 12 issues to tell it.

I think it could make some really interesting results forcing a deadline like that on a creative team - really make them produce stellar work so they don't waste a page or a panel of the comic. What I also think would make it stand out than a normal run on a comic.

Good point. Although, knowing me, there's no way I could fit all of my ideas for an All Star Superman run into just twelve issues.

I think it all depends on how the other upcomming All-Star titles will be accepted. Right now they have a 50/50 hate/like with All-Star Batman and Robin (the hate) and All-Star Superman (the like). I think that if the other upcoming All-Star titles aren't well liked like All-Star Batman and Robin, I think DC may just give up on the line.

Morrison is on ASS for 12 issues.

I really want to see an All Star JLA,but we already have Justice which should have been an All Star book to begin with.

I don't see them launching an All Star JLA book anytime soon with Justice out.

Does it really matter (to DC, at least) that ASB&R is hated if it's selling like hot cakes every title an issue is released? (granted, that's only happening once a year or so now, but still... :o)

People are only buying it because it has:

1. Frank Miller

2. Jim Lee

Get rid of them and the book would not be selling AT ALL.

Depends on who the other team is.

Yeah.

There are plenty of writers/artists who could sell that book. Brubaker, Wagner, etc etc. It's not selling now anyway cause it never comes out.

Exactly. If someone like Matt Wagner came on board, the title would stay afloat no problem. Same for O'Niel/Adams, Dini/Timm (you knwo you want it) or Phil Jemeniez.

I think that once the artists and/or writers are done and new artists/writers come in they should start on a new All Star comic, something like Flash or Blue Beetle, or JSA, and Wonder Woman.

Supposedly, the opening story arc in Superman Confidential was going to be the second arc in All Star Superman. I've only heard that from a few people so it is very doubtful that would've been the case.
