Alright let's talk about tonight's ep "Pariah"

Oops sorry. It's the public perception on casting thread. Everyone agrees that we just must to something to get this TW out of people's heads. Brainwashing them with over promotion of the movie seems to be an option.

Oh, OK. I didn't really read that one.

It sounds like just another excuse to flame fest Welling fans...

that sad part for them is the public gets a "kick in the nuts" reinforcement of Welling's Superness on a weekly basis. The more he develops into Supes the bigger his shadow grows. I actually feel bad for HWSNBN, not only are his talents in question, but he's got an 800 lb gorilla in Reeve hanging over him, as well as a contemporary actor already playing most of his character that's been bought into by the public at a growing rate.

You missed the point, there is a difference between being a movie star and a good actor. Ben Affleck is a movie star, is he a good actor?

Tom Welling is what now, in his 30’s? Or nearly there? He still has no charisma, emotion or anything else in his acting. Trust me on this he’ll never be a ‘movie star’ or even a good actor. I’ll be the first to eat my words if he does but I think any hardcore movie fan can see that he can’t act for ****.

what else has he done besides smallville , whihc requires he to be restrained in a certain acting mold for 4 seasons and counting. sheeez :D

Cheaper by the Dozen....I guess...LOL.

I'd still rather him play Superman. As far as I'm concerned, Routh is in the same boat as Welling with his career.

Look I was skeptical of Welling too, but dude was great on the last episode and not because of that "Nooooooooo!!!!" outburst.Like when he got angry. I was like Damn that's Supers after all!
The dude is doing great this year

LMFAO!! Uhkay, I did see that thread. In fact, I think I posted in it. A snarky post, no doubt. LOL

(Still not going there today though - I've got a LOT of work to do, and I don't want to get frustrated. Or worse... pissed off. *sigh*)

Smallville finally overtook NBC in the ratings!!!!!
And then some. HR and Reuters posted some updated Nielsen figures last night for Wednesday...

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - President Bush's state of the union speechifying was no match Wednesday for Fox's "American Idol."

The 8 p.m. sing-off led Fox to an easy victory, drawing 25 million viewers and a 10.4 rating/27 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research.

"Idol" had no real competition to speak of, as ABC served up a rerun of "Lost" (10.1 million, 3.1/8), while CBS' "60 Minutes Wednesday" (6.8 million, 1.3/3) and NBC's "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search" (4.5 million, 1.6/4) scraped the Nielsen cellar.

WB beat CBS and NBC in the hour in adults 18-49, and topped NBC in viewers with a fresh episode of "Smallville" (4.8 million, 2.2/6). In East Coast and Midwestern markets, the rest of the night was taken up by Bush's address and follow-up news coverage. Preliminary estimates indicate only a modest turnout for the presidential address.

i thought this episode was very bad. if chloe isn't saying anything to anyone (which by the way is awfully out of character) about clarks secret, then there is no point of her knowing to begin with. don't you guys find it strange that next episode clark is all happy again after his girlfriend died!!!???

Yeah, there is a point. She can be Clark's friend and finally get over her incessant mooning over Clark. It's time that they became just friends, something they both need.

As for Clark being happy in the next Ep, well I don't know about that since we haven't seen it yet. However I will also be unhappy if they do that because the standalone eps thing shouldn't go as far as having him losing Alicia not matter.

All very true. I'm uncomfortable with Chloe knowing the secret, but that'll make me want to watch even more. That makes her demise inevitable, even though it pretty much was before.

I hope they haven't forgotten about last week's episode already! I haven't.

:supes: :supes: :supes: :supes: :supes:

From what I'm reading so far from you guys, it looks like this episode might be the turning point of what I’d call a mixed bag of crap and good season so far.

Will anyone be kind enough to PM me or post here if they find a torrent anytime soon so I can download? I live in the UK so I can't watch it other than that way. Thanks

I use overnet/edonkey to watch Smallville episodes from the US - Go to www.edonkey.com....download the free version of 'edonkey/overnet', then type in 'Smallville' in the 'search' bar once you've downloaded and installed the programme, and you'll see like every Smallville episode since the first season there in amazing TV-Rip quality. :) You can also find torrent files to download for the more recent episodes.
Should download really fast if you have a fast internet connection...

i enjoyed the episode and I'm glad that Chloe has found out Clarks secret. I've been a big fan of the Chloe character for a while now (it's just something about her that I love) I've read a few comments in this thread that it's totally out of character for Chloe to know his secret and not tell anyone but i thought her reaction was spot on. she was initially shocked as I'm sure most people would be but she was obviously playing over in her mind what to do about it. after speaking to Lois she's decided to be a very good friend and be supportive and hope that one day he finally tells her himself. the last scene with her in the grave yard with Clark was excellent and it really showed a warm loving side to Chloe.

I totally agree.

Chloe was great, although I think agree with what someone said about her scene in the Talon seeming a bit weird... it was.

She nailed it later in the Torch and graveyard scenes. I've always loved Chloe and I am very glad she knows now.

Clark was really broken up over Alicia's death last week, so do you think we'll see him all sad and depressed on tonight's new episode?

This was what the Smallville episode recapper over at www.televisionwithoutpity.com had to say about it...
Next week: The emotional fallout from [Alicia's] death continues to devastate Clark as he struggles to find meaning behind the choices he's made and the weight of the secret he keeps while the town mourns a person they horribly misjudged.....naw, just f---ing with you. It's about college football being awesome. Woohoo! Football makes everything better. Think I'll go watch the Super Bowl now.

thats pretty funny, I hope they just dont start with a clean slate this ep, I hope there's some carry over from the previous episode

That's hilarious, but he's right: I hope they don't make it disappear.

I mean Pete left and he was his best friend since grade school and his leaving gets one mention in the next episode and that's it. Has he even been mentioned once since Covenant?

I don't think so...

Pretty sucky if they fail to show Clark still dealing with her death and his guilt over it.

Last week's final ratings are in, and...

Smallville was The WB's highest rated show last week.

1. Smallville - 4.776 million viewers - 2.2/6 in Adults 18-49
2. Gilmore Girls - 4.677 million viewers - 2.2/6 in Adults 18-49
3. Everwood - 4.252 million viewers - 1.6/4 in Adults 18-49

So to all the doomsdayers  :p

Clark is an idiot.
I don't expect that much of him except to look good, smile pretty and occasionally reveal a pec or two but seriously now: the writers are delulded if they expect me to believe that Clark wouldn't simply tell Alicia to TELEPORT out of the speeding car instead of catching it with his bear hands. I admit it was a good scene but come on now...

He couldn't leave the car speeding like that so it could crash into innocent people!

Yeah, I figured that's why she was calling... for him to stop the car so it wouldn't hurt anyone.
