Who would have thought that a movie about Mozart would be awesome?

Was this your first time seeing it?

It's pretty damn fantastic and I hear they recently did a parody of it on family guy

Anybody who knows about Mozart, although there were a lot of liberties taken in the movie. :oldrazz:

And yes, this movie rocked.

No. I saw it YEARS ago in music class. I simply needed a reminder of its awesome-ness. Oh, and check out the director's cut. Mozart's wife is naked in it.

That's what makes it better IMO. Had they been 100% truthful it wouldn't have been as interesting a movie. The movie isn't just a Mozart bio-pic. It's a movie about revenge, jealousy, and religion. As well as some other stuff.

Like some kick-ass music.

Wait, was this released in the 80's? Isn't this a comedy?

The Simpsons also had a parody of this. It was an episode where The Simpsons and Millhouse were in the Springfield Library and because of the lack of books in the store, Marge tells Bart, Lisa and Millhouse stories for an upcoming class report, and one of them was the Mozart story. At the end of the story, Lisa mentioned that Marge's story was a complete ripoff of Amadeus and Homer barges in and says that the guy who played Mozart was in Animal House.

"It was terrifying and wonderful to watch."

Best quote from this movie, and one that describes it so well.

This movie is greatness.

Wasn't the King of Austria played by Jeff Jones, most known as Principal Rooney on Ferris Bueller?

hahaha. yes. He was skinny in this movie. And the villain from Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is also in this movie. :o As well as a young Cynthia Nixon.

I've only seen the Director's Cut years ago and it left me wanting more. Best movie of the 1980's?

One of the best movies of the '80's, but not the best.

It wasn't even the best movie of 1984. That honor would go to Once Upon a Time in America.

I didn't like it that much, but then again, I've never been a fan of the gangster/mob stuff or of De Niro's.

Everything I know about Mozart, I learned from Falco. Maybe I should check this movie out.

I should watch OUATIA again. I remember liking only the first half of the movie when they were kids. I have it on DVD though.
