What do you think?

They might be able to get away with not having Liv Tyler as Betty Ross actually. If it's an entirely new group of supporting characters (like She Hulk, Amadeus Cho etc), it'll freshen things up a bit for Ruffalo. Not sure what to do about General Ross though.

In my opinion they should go fresh with everyone(except Ruffalo of course). The cast from IH wasn't good,so they'll hardly be missed.

If they can only keep one, I hope they keep William Hurt. I thought he did a great job as Thunderbolt Ross.

Brand new cast, the only exception should be Tim Roth as the Abomination, he was by far the stand out of TIH.

Liv Tyler, William Hurt, Ty Burrell, Tim Blake Nelson and even Tim Roth are still under contracts for a TIH2.

Funny, the only one who hasn't sign the contract was Edward Norton. This said enough of how he wants to come back as Hulk in next sequels or Avengers' movies. :whatever:

I'd rather they use the Betty and General from Ang Lee's Hulk with Ruffalo as Banner.

The supporting cast is one of the few things Ang Lee got right.

I kinda feel we're past the point where any of the previous supporting cast are necessary for his story (where he is in the his life now, from what we saw in avengers)

they were more part of his origin story

I wouldn't mind seeing Betty back (rather it's Liv or someone new) but, I don't think she's needed

I would however like to see more of, Tim Blake Nelson (as the Leader) an/or Ty Burrell (as Doc Samson)

Agreed, Tim Roth was brilliant. Tyler was......ok but the only reason she worked in TIH was because her and Norton had chemistry so by that logic, new Banner, new Betty. I didn't care for Tim Blake Nelson and although they've already set him up to become the Leader, I'd much prefer someone else in the role, he just doesn't suit The Leader IMO. As for William Hurt, I like parts of his portrayl and I like parts of Sam Elliott's portrayl, if I had to see one in the role again I'd say Sam Elliott, he just needs to show a bit more of Ross' aggression and ruthlessness.

It's strange because I still love TIH but don't care for 90% of the actors in it and feel a better job could be done with a different cast.

Keep the same cast. Just get rid of Tyler. Get a real actress insteead.

I didn't think Liv Tyler was all that bad as Betty Ross, if she sticks around I won't complain. I found the TIH cast pretty good in general so I'd prefer if they stuck around, though there'll have to be acknowledgement of time passing because when (there's not really an "if" anymore) the next Hulk movie is released, it will be at the earliest 2014, six years after the 2008 movie. Tim Roth, William Hurt, Liv Tyler, etc. will all be six years older and Hollywood magic won't be able to completely hide that.

As for She Hulk and Amadeus Cho . . . Cho would be incredibly cool if utilized properly but a common flaw in Hollywood is to make Cho types semi-annoying teen sidekicks and that's not going to help. Betty Ross will most likely be She-Hulk as well to keep the cast down (that is, if She-Hulk is in the cards, and she's likely not). The MCU culls a lot from the Ultimate Universe and Betty is the Ultimate She-Hulk, so . . . yeah, Liv Tyler hulking out whee. :oldrazz:

Liv tyler and William Hurt weren't bad. They just weren't nearly as good as Liv Tyler and Sam Elliot. But the direction had something to do with that. TBN is great.

I'd like to see Hurt return, I liked what he did. I know this isn't the general opinion, but he fits my idea of Thunderbold better than Sam Elliot did.

Not that fussed about Liv Tyler as Betty. If Abomination returns, it would be great to see Roth coming back.

They should definitely bring Tim Blake Nelson back if at all possible. He stole the show for the short stretch he was in TIH. I loved Roth too, but his character is a CGI creature now so what are you going to have for him to do?

I want all the old cast back. But for sure I want William Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross

I'm getting a little tired of recasting. The cast from TIH wasn't as good as some from HULK, but it's not like they're going to bring the cast of HULK in for TIH2. I can see Ruffalo and Tyler having good chemistry, and Hurt was solid.

William Hurt WAS Thunderbolt Ross so he should be back in Hulk and Cap and anything else that has the U.S. military in it.

Tyler was fine, keep her too. As many as it would make sense to bring back, they should.

Every time Bond was recast, they kept the same M, Q, Moneypenny, etc. - it worked there it will work here.

There is NO way they would use the cast from the Ang Lee Hulk - that was a different studio's stab at Hulk, not Marvels. That would be like Marvel keeping the Fox cast of the FF if they ever get them back.

I wouldn't mind either Elliott or Hurt back as Tbolt.

As for Betty. I'll take Jennifer Connelly all day over Liv Tyler.

I wouldn't mind Hurt and Tyler coming back for continuity, and I'd like to see Tim Blake Nelson return. I'd like them to focus on others from the Hulk comic. Rick Jones, REAL transformed Doc Samson, or perhaps some additional characters. If they did a superhero cameo: Dr. Strange.

The only person I have any real desire to come back is William Hurt.

Can't Hulk see astral forms or ghosts or whatever? I don't know exactly what he can see, but I thought it was along those lines kind of.

It would be cool if Strange's cameo was him keeping tabs on hulk in an astral form and Hulk catches him (either obviously or in a slick way that leaves it ambiguous to keep the audience guessing) but then it would obviously open up a possibility for Defenders.

Really?! I thought Roth was completely mis-cast. Don't get me wrong, I love Roth, but the way he always slouches and swaggers around...he did not exude the quality of being a highly trained military operative.

Honestly for me, aside from Norton, I thought that most of the cast was inferior to 2003 Hulk, particularly Betty and Thuderbolt.
And even Norton didn't have everything I wanted in Banner. And that's really hard for me to say, because he is one of my favorite actors, and who I had always wanted to play Banner. Heck, he even looks like comic Banner. So I was pretty excited when he was cast, but after viewing the film, he plays a good victim, but lacks the ability to convey the restrained anger. Banner is a victim, but at the same time, there should be a rage that you can sense is being corked up. That's what makes Bixby the best Banner yet, because you could just sense him fighting the desire to break loose. Ruffalo has that Bixby quality, so I see what Whedon meant when he spoke about this.

It just stinks that Hulk took so long to get right, because I think all the attempts have muddled the character and will make another solo movie very difficult. Hate to think that Avengers is Hulks last time on screen.

Recast is doubtful, all the actor's are signed to multiple films. Norton was an exception, because I'm pretty sure Marvel didn't want to have to deal with him behind the scenes again with The Avengers.

Oh I agree that Roth didn't come across as the hardened veteran that they made him out to be, but he had that viscous nature about him, he seemed like a really mean attack dog ands pretty much how I've always pictured the Abomination.

might as well bring them back for the next Avengers-based film-- iron man, capt. america, thor, etc.
