Here's a copy of Amazing Fantasy 15 which I purchased today from a local shop!

This issue was owned by Kurt Busiek (shop owner knows him)- he even autographed an issue of Superman for me.

Wow, that's awesome! Congrats! So how much did it run you if you don't mind me asking?

Ahhhhhhhhhh *cries* I convinced myself this comic no longer existed so I wouldn't have to face the pain of knowing it was out there but out of my grasp financially. *Sobs*

What're the stories shown in the last 2 images?? Was there more to the issues than just the Spidey story??

I don't want to post the price, sorry. Yes, there were other stories in the book besides Spidey. If you look around on Ebay there's people trying to pass off reprints as originals- make sure there's more stories than just Spiderman. I don't think the others have been reprinted (I could be wrong, but I've never seen them).

It was kind of strange that the book became available as I'm just rereading the Marvels TPB and had just finished reading Kurt Busiek's introduction. I think it's extra cool to have the copy of Superman autographed to me.

I have some other older goodies if you guys are interersted in seeing pix of them.

and why is it not in a protective case? And do you really wanty people to know you can afford something like that? ;)

congrats by the way (grrrrrrrr)

Congrats on the comic man.
Personally I would not buy that book in less than VF+, also I think you should tell us what you paid.

What difference does it make?

Anyhow, congrats, that is really cool!

Oh, how many times I've wished for a time machine... the only thing I'd do is go back and get all these comics... :o

Congrats, its a damn nice copy. Although I would never, ever have the cojones to open mine

Thank guys. The book is in a bag and board with another board inside a hard plastic case. I'm looking for better ways to store my Spideys and other early stuff. I'm not sure if there's a way to safely display and protect them, but if there is, I'd like to know.

I think it's really cool that it belonged to Kurt Busiek- and I just want to take a minute and give a shout out to Pete and Main Street Comics in Middletown NY for being the best damn shop around!

Here's a few of my other goodies:

Oh yeah- I know the copy of Cap 13 is in sorry shape, but the price was right and I had to get it. I'm really really pleased to have an issue of Cap that was published in 1942 during WWII. Someday I plan to have a nicer copy of an early Cap, but for now it makes me happy.

get yourself some of these

also I hope your using mylar and calcium buffered boards rather than standard bags. These are historical documents! :)

I'm interested in what you paid for it. Don;t get me wrong its a nice looking copy (cept for the chipping). Just, well, its good to know when people get either ******ly good, or bad, deals on books. Hell, I picked up a copy of ASM #9 the other night for 10 bucks. VG / F. Not to shabby.

Wow- thanks for that- that looks like exactly what I need! I'm thinking of building a shelf to put these on to display them, but I'm worried about sunlight. Maybe I'll put a tinted plexiglass cover over them.

Wow, pretty damn nice deal! Was it a private sale, Ebay or maybe just someone who didn't know the value?

Eh, I just put my expensive ones in regular ones. As long as you change them every fefw years they should be good.

Yes, but there's expensive and there's the first appearance of spider-man. I mean that book's older than my dad for christ's sake

Yeah, I want to really keep this one nice-I'll order up a bunch of storage thingys for my Spideys. I'm also going to have to think about insuring my collection now that I have AF15.

What's special about 39? I may be able to get ahold of another copy very easily if you're looking to fill a hole in your collection.
