Comics Amazing Spider-Man #605 preview (spoilers)

My initial reaction:

*Peter calls Michelle "Bathroy-esque" in reference towards Countess Elizabeth Bathroy of Hungary who is considered one of history's most notorious serial killers? That certainly speaks volumes about how Peter really feels about his new "girlfriend."

*I found it pretty amusing with the self-aware in-jokes Mary Jane makes. First the "proof" that she's an "expert on swinging from ropes" and then her critique on the thankless roles actresses get in superhero movies.
EDIT: Then again, JMS pretty much tackled the same thing with his "Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock in Hollywood story" didn't he?

*It's also interesting to see that whatever caused Peter and MJ to break up in this new continuity, Aunt May blames her for it, even though Peter has indicated in ASM #545 it was something HE did and that MJ was angry at him for. Makes sense to me.

I know it's just a preview, but it looks like the story is starting off pretty well.

Agree on the MJ stuff! Hopefully this issue sheds some light on their situation and also doesn't further annoy us anti-OMD/BND fans.

Looks interesting. I'm digging the artwork and glad to see Van Lente writing on the book still.

My only complaint...that this is going to be 3.99? I thought that they were not going to be making Amazing Spider-Man 3.99? It's obvious they are doing it it's just really making me upset. Because I don't think I can keep affording that and I really am going to want to be reading these books right now. Just too much money right now.

It's 48 pages, that's why it's a dollar more.

Just because MJ left because of something Peter did wouldn't necessarily make Aunt May "not" mad at MJ...

I like how the stunt guy went "splat" into the wall...

Even better than the first year, ASM is really kicking it into high gear ever sine ASM #600...
