Jonathan Lisco has been tapped as showrunner of Halt & Catch Fire. Set in the early 1980s, it dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, Joe (Lee Pace); an engineer, Gordon (Scoot McNairy); and a prodigy, Cameron (Mackenzie Davis), whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. The project was written on spec by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers who will exec produce with Lisco, Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. The pilot was directed by Juan José Campanella.
Not so sure about the concept, but I'm all for more Lee Pace, so...

Well they have the right producers involved (Breaking Bad, Rectify), the showrunner is an interesting choice (Southland writer, K-Ville creator) but I will check it out.

They've got me interested and it will be here shortly on June 1.

AMC have the first episode up online to watch.

Just saw the first episode. I really enjoyed it. Love Pace's character. Hopefully this will be a hit for AMC.

I really enjoyed the first episode and thought it had a great score .I didn't think they would go there with the Armadillo in the beginning , I was thinking to myself, oh its just gonna roll into a little ball, lol. Loved the final scene with all the IBM guys and gal walking in.

bring on episode 2

Great pilot, damn, Pace & McNairy together, you get sparkles.

Watched the pilot last night & thought it was pretty good - Pace's character seems like he's going to be doing a lot of pot-stirring in this, so I'm all for seeing where this goes. Hope it gets a chance to succeed on AMC.

Yeah, I already see how Pace's character is gonna be. If AMC keeps it it'll get deeper.

Ah, okay thanks. I couldn't find it online anywhere, but AMC should upload it soon.

Thought the pilot was great. What I love about this is that it's essentially Don Draper and Walter White teaming up to make a computer. And that's awesome.

I'm really enjoying this. Pace character is really interesting. Joe has some serious demons.

I wonder how IBM feel about this show as they aren't exactly portrayed in a good light even though the show is fictional.

Ok, I just got caught up on the first 2 episodes and WOW do they have something here. This could be the next great one.

I can't remember a pilot episode keeping me engaged like that and the second episode was just as terrific. Great writing, directing, acting and characters.

The IBM entrance was a great scene as was their customer raid later on.

Finally caught the 2nd episode. It was great. A lot of the times I'll admit Im confused by the terminology like BIOS and all that. But I like the direction the series is heading. I just AMC gives it time to grow, because I can see, by the 2nd season, this being a real TV drama force.

How is this doing ratings wise

If you grew up in the era of Commodore and Tandy, you know exactly what what's her name is trying to do.

3rd episode is really good, does a lot in developing all the characters & it's definitely promising for the rest of the season. There's a lot going on and it's definitely pretty intoxicating for me, there's something interesting happening with Joe that just shows you how far the guy is willing to go and it poses even more questions. Donna proves herself to be something else than the loving wife and has actually aspirations of her own, that goes along with what the showrunner said about her character, that she's really going to develop into an interesting character of her own.

Some parts might be a bit rushed such
the car accident
but I think I get the rationale behind that.

Horrible. It may not see a 2nd season which is going to be a damn shame. :(

Actually, it's been doing pretty decent in L+3 percentages, and the reviews have been strong for the second episode as well. It certainly makes a better case for itself than Turn or Low Winter Sun ever did.

Saw the 3rd episode. Not as good as the first two.

That moment with Joe left me with questions. Did he do it out of spite or just because he wanted to. IT seemed like a cheap ploy moment

I finished the pilot episode, but I had pretty much tuned out a half hour in. Boring.

What was so boring?

I guess if you're not interested in the universe or have no patience whatsoever, then it must be boring.
