American Dad vs Family Guy

My brother just bought American Dad series 2, and I think it is top quality comedy.

He also likes Family Guy, which I think is the most overrated turd ever.

Which is the best in your eyes?

American Dad is terribly underrated. Every episode has at least 3 laugh out loud moments. That's very good compared to most tv comedies.

Is it better than Family Guy at it's prime? No.

Are the recent episodes better than recent episodes of Family Guy? Most definitely.

I don't think American Dad had the best start, but it definitely doesn't get the love it should.

I think the main reason it's underrated is because when people heard it was by the same people behind Family Guy, they expected another show full of random humour.

But I agree with Fury that I can probably get 3 to 4 good laughs out of an episode...CBS can't give me that. ABC can't give me that.

But I guess Family Guy would win out most of the time. Even if they've worn some of their running gags pretty thin.

I have to go Family Guy on this one. American Dad is OK, but I can laugh out loud at FG over and over again. American Dad is good for a chuckle once and that's about it.

It was a good alternative to Family Guy during it's 4th (horrible) season, which was also it's comeback season. But I don't watch it anymore so I voted for Family Guy.

American Dad is far more clever than Family Guy, which usually goes for the easy dick and fart jokes where as American Dad usually focuses on social and politcal satire.

Ted Danson's sitcom, "Help Me, Help You", last year was one of them.

I enjoy American Dad more than present day Family Guy or The Simpsons.

I've never watched American Dad, my brother has Season 1 on DVD so I should really steal it from him and give it a god. Family Guy is the funnyest thing coming out of America since they canned Futurama.
