Justice and the law are different... it just so happens that instead of facing justice, it was the law he ended up with.

Finally saw it last night. If I had one complaint, it's that there wasn't enough Carla Gugino. But then again, that's pretty much a fault of every movie ever made.

Amazing film, though.

I know I'm late, but this film felt fairly unremarkable. Felt like a couple filler episodes from The Wire, which has been doing the same thing but better for half a decade. Even Stringer Bell showed up! Good on all counts, but nothing new, and despite it's length, feels fairly underdeveloped. Tries to throw in too much in too short a time for the material.

Finally saw it yesterday. Very cool flick, I love 70's throwbacks like this. My favorite scene was probably [BLACKOUT]when Frank Lucas got arrested outsdie the church.[/BLACKOUT]

Great crime drama about new view at the mafia and what does it mean to such bastard as Frank Lucas.

Loved story (Zaillian rocks as always does), characters, dilogues. Of course, Scott did a great job recreating New Jerssey and New York, so I thought vidual side of the movie didn't disappoint me. The same goes to the acting, Washington finally shows what I have been waiting for several years. Crowe was as excellent as he alwais is.

So overall, I will give it 9 out of 10, becaus ethe only thing which did really hurt the movie was it's running time (I think it could show way more stuff with 160 mins).

3 Disc Collector's Edition coming next year, which will include both the theatrical cut and an extended version with 20 minutes added.

Finally saw this tonight and loved it, two fascinating characters, brought to life by two superb performances, on a journey through the crime world of the late 60's and 70's, on different paths that converge in a gripping climax.

It's all masterfully orchestrated by Ridley Scott, the direction is stylish and earthy, the film bristles with authenticity. I'd put it easily against any of the best pic noms this year.

9/10

Don't blame him, I swear it's weird because I just got around to watching this last night also . I thought it was great, although it was pretty long (I watched the extended version). overall i'd say its 9.5/10
btw, did you also watch the extended version, Hunter Rider?

Yes, I loved the extra scene's with Richie and Frank, the end shot is also much cooler in the extended cut, very 70's.

The nostalgic look of the film was the coolest part IMO, loved that....
