An R rating!!

The real question is if we are going to see penis.:(

From what I understand... the "codpiece" is the closest you will get to this. Though there is suppose to full frontal female nudity.

I am actually happy to hear this. Miller's work was very fun, but not that accurate. I would rather they stick to adapting his work faithfully, then try to mix his work in with a more accurate history and get everything confused. Hopefully this movie will do well and a more accurate portrayal of the Spartans will be made eventually.

Kytrigger... like you, I hope there will be a more accurate movie made later and hope that people will watch this one with "entertainment" not "history" in mind.

Yet... I know that is a lot of "hoping" on both our parts!

Miller's Spartians fought in the nude! I read something that Miller said that he's happy with movie's portrayal of "His vision of Spartans and not the REAL Spartans" I think it was in either this months or last Wizard?

Actually, they don't fight in the nude in the book. Most of them were nude when in Sparta, but in battle, they had these loincloth/g-string hybrid.

That's another reason why you gotta respect these guys--they're probably the only people who wear s**t like that and still get respect and would kill you in a nanosecond if they wanted. :o

I'm not paying money to watch some guy's dick.

To be fair. IF they were going to show the Spartans fighting nude, then it wouldn't be some guy's dick. It would be many *****. Would you pay for that?

:wow: i for one don't really want to see a lot of parts flapping around :wow:

if i remember right, "schindler's list" had a bunch of hangy down parts in one scene. way different type of movie though.

It has been confirmed that 300 will have an R rating due to violence, sexual situations and nudity.

Awsome

Do not take any part of this movie as historical except for the names and the numbers involved. All the rest is very fictional.

Xerxes was not bald with piercings and spartans wore armor that coverred them down to their knees.

They said they are staying true to the book. Sooo.....penis=
Sin City stayed true to the books and it didn't have penises or a topless Nancy.

The numbers aren't real either. There may have been only 300 Spartans, but there were also other Greek Soldiers fighting there as well (around 5000 total I think).

That is a point of dispute as the 300 may have lasted for a bit before the first reinforcements arrived. I am not quite sure. But you are right it was not 300 soldiers that held of the hordes for all that time.

Anyways, I just wanted to make a statement saying it was fiction when somebody mentions seeing a historical movie.

I get what you're saying, and I hope everyone realizes it's fiction too. Hopefully the really fantastical elements (such as giants) will help clue people in. I mean, if someone really sees this and believes this is a factual account of what happened, then they were already lost to begin with.

Shouldnt be suprised at an R rating? V for Vendetta...

That is a very valid statement. to be honest I had no idea of the more fantastical elements of this account. I think if I knew there were creatures like giants I would not have said anything.

Anyways, out of curiosity, where the hell are the giants supposed to come from......then again historically the average height was likely to be 5' and anyone beyond 6' would have seemed to be a giant ;)

This would not be right without blood and an R rating.
