And the unstoppable unnecessary sequels just keep comin....

Not to forget:

I Am Legend 2 now.
Bourne 4
Transporter 3
Smokin' Aces 2 or prequel.
Pink Panther 2, which bombed at the box office.
Fast and Furious 4.

I am disgusted with this.

Bourne 4 is totally necessary :o

That's the only thing I was going to say. I think you still have places to go with Bourne 4....but everything else...no. Especially the Ace Ventura sequel. I just watched that trailer...and now I feel like I want to kick a puppy.

How? Matt Damon needs to get back to making good movies. His dramas are much better and his performance in the Bourne movies are emotionless and boring. Or "Bouring". He's too talented to be doing shaky camera action movies.

While I agree they are not high art, I wouldn't call the Bourne series shaky action movies. And how was he emotionless and boring?

BTW, out of that list, Pink Panther 2 is the main offender. A movie that bombed at the box office, got bad reviews...

Oh, and let's not forget about the 300 prequel/sequel.

This stuff get's made and we can't pay someone to do a Heroes for Hire movie?

tsk. :cmad:

:thing: :doom: :thing:

If the general public would stop turning these crappy movies into easy profits, they wouldn't be made. I blame the idiot public, not greedy Hollywood.

There's not much too Bourne, he is calm stone faced in most scenes and does little to develop passed his one dimensional presence. He's not intriguing, but the plots were and so were the governmental personel.

You didn't notice the camera shaking during every action scene. You can't tell whats going on. That was the only problem I had with Quantum as well. I'm not saying the movies are bad but I just think Hollywood should consider letting things go when we've seen to get enough. If an audience wants it and it makes money they'll make it.

Good call on the 300 prequel. Shrek 4 as well.

I like the Transporter movies. They should not be lumped in with some of the others mentioned.

But why can't the producers see that Van Wilder was popular because of Ryan Reynolds? Without him, there is NO reason to do any sequels.

I'll agree that the end of his arc in Ultimatum was a big letdown for me. The movies work as fast paced thrillers, and I found Bourne to have enough charisma to carry them. He's no Bond, of course, he's more of a disturbed character.

As far as the camera....I was able to tell what's going on *most* of the time, and I never really hated the whole shaky cam thing, like most people. So I guess the movies work for me in many ways. Ah hell, let's agree to disagree :cwink:

And likewise. Good call on Shrek Goes Forth, or Fourth.

Cools.

Did I mention Austin Powers 4. And Tom Rothman said "Never say never" when asked about Independence Day 4. Ugh...

But you seem to forget that the Van Wilder 2 bombed at the box office cause everyone knew it would suck without Ryan Reynolds.

Actually, i'm all for Bourne 4 if done well...and Transporter 3 if it means redeeming the series after the horrible second film. :)

I've already explained Bourne and I am way burnt out on Statham. I'm sure the 3rd Transporter will be a catastrophe.

they also made a pulse 2 and are working on a third.

the first one bombed and i only watched it for kristen bell

i think the movie industry should put together a board that's sole purpose is to accept or decline sequel ideas. no sequel/prequel/spin-off can be made without their approval and they're existence would be justified by saying that they uphold the sacredness of sequelism.

I heard Strangers 2 as well.

I don't get it. I thought sequels were made if the material could move on and their was a demand for it. Some of these movies, I see no demand for.

Tr2N looks like it'd be much more entertaining, whenever they get the sucker finished.
