Do you think DC should have animated shorts before their theatrical movies? For example: you go to see Man of Steel and after the trailers there is a 5-8 minute short featuring Shazam/Captain Marvel whatever you wanna call him. Do you think this is a good idea?

Pros:
I think it could give more exposure to some characters
DC does animation really well imo so I'd be fine with seeing more animation
I'm already paying $10+ for a ticket getting an extra 5 mins with another character is good with me

Been saying they should for a long time. I mean really, why not? Most people will probably like it. It's a good idea to get more exposure for characters, I agree.

Guess $$$ might be the issue... haha.

I mean how much extra money can it cost though? Does anyone know roughly how much those DC Showcase shorts cost to be made

I guess they cost enough to stop making them. When Superman/Shazam (which had all the shorts collected together) didn't do the numbers they hoped for, they decided to stop doing them (aside from the Catwoman one with Year One.)

Which sucks, because I really liked that idea. It was a really awesome bonus for buying the Blu Ray/DVD.

Really? Cripes. Yeah I really liked those too. They were a nice little bonus.

But idk if they put ones of that quality in front of movies I think it'd pay off in the end.

I dunno, if its an obscure character like the spectre I really couldn't care less to watch it if I'm there to watch, for example batman. That said, on the dvd I think it would be a neat idea.

I could've sworn marvel was looking into live action shorts, guess that never ended up working out.

On special-edition DVDs/BluRays for those who would like that sort of thing...but not in theatrical showings, no....even if it didn't cost extra. People don't like to be forced to watch a cartoon if they didn't specifically go to the theater to see one.
