Since it seems to be Kosinki's project all the way through, I'd be surprised if it isn't more of a crowd pleaser than hard boiled cop drama.

Can we get a NY Undercover remake btw? That was essentially the Miami Vice of the 90s.

New York Undercover was one of the best shows of the 90s. Was so happy to see it hit streaming and most of the music intact.

I guess it depends on scheduling. If he's only playing the younger Chris in Heat 2 he may not be needed on that set as much.

I don't particularly care for either one of them in general and I'm already kind of over seeing them everywhere but between the two I definitely prefer Butler.

I tend to agree. Butler isn't quite there yet as far as star power, which is what I think they're going for here. Could be a huge breakout role for him though.

Yeah I think they are both good actors but Powell seems to have a bit more star power and seems to fit more into roles where lighthearted charisma is required. I see Butler as the better actor for darker and more serious stuff. Granted, Miami Vice was never a comedy but I hope this version tries to be a bit more fun than that Foxx/Farrell version.
