Action-Adventure Twister Reboot ‘Twisters’ | Universal Pictures

You all know we’re going to just get generic subtitles for the sequels.

Twisters: Dark Storm
Twisters: Resurrections
Twisters: Maverick

Etc.

Are they even doing a sequel so soon?

I can't remember a disaster movie getting a sequel 2 to 3 years later.

Twisters 2: Tornado Alley
The Twister
Twisters: Absolutely Nothing Concerning About the Weather

Twister (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Jo Harding)

This was just alright. I was bored in some places definitely didn’t need to be 2 dang hours long.

I saw it today and would give it a 3 1/2 of 5. IMMA lousy critic so I was cool with it. There was a minor twist or two, but other than that, it was rather predictable. I'm more excited about next week's release.

Basically, I just love sitting back in a comfy seat and sitting in front of a giant screen. I'm a cheap date.

Hey I didn’t care for it much but I’m glad the theaters had another week of good business.

Was not disappointed! Fitting that this was an Amblin Production (even if Spielberg is to blame for the horrendous decision to cut the kiss) because Cheung is giving off very big Spielberg vibes here. Excellent blend of blockbuster thrills and artistic vision. I hope his career blows up in a big way after this.

The cast was all great - obviously, I loved Powell, and DEJ was a strong lead. Brandon Perea as Boone was the scenestealer for me. Getting typecast "loud dude who specializes in filming aerial phenomenon" is so funny - need him in a lot more stuff.

I found this pretty average TBH. The cast were all game and good their roles. Some nice CGI and mixed with practical work also. And it had a decent emotional core

But the original is the superior movie for me. Every tornado in the original felt like a genuine threat and a danger to the characters. Here you have them shooting fireworks from the middle of a tornado and it takes the threat away a bit for me. I also felt the motivation more of Helen Hunts character. And I preferred the love story of the original also.

This was all well made and everything but it just brought nothing new to the table for me. The plot was all predictable. It's a shame Bill Paxton isn't around for many reasons but I think he would have jumped at some involvement with this and he would elevated it as well.

6.5/10

Wonder how it's going to perform this weekend.
Yeah, my showing last night was PACKED. It sucks that Deadpool is robbing it of all the premium screens, but I definitely think it will hold strong as counter-programming. Word of mouth is obviously great, as long as the studio doesn't do anything stupid, it should stand fast in the next few weeks.

That said, they've gotta be kicking themselves for not opening this a week or two earlier.

I suspect they are going to toss Twisters back on screens with 4DX seats as soon as possible

I would think that not only is Twisters counter programming as it's PG-13 compared to Deadpool's R rating. I would think it will get overflow traffic if Deadpool screenings are sold out and people not wanting to go to a super crowded theater. I'm guessing we'll see a 60-65% drop.

Great soundtrack but 1. I still don't get the need for it to have 29 songs. and 2. Why did they not include the Chris Stapleton song?

You'll definitely get more families going to Twisters, and maybe even the animated films, that probably wouldn't be able to see Deadpool 3 because of that rating. While Deadpool will take the box office crown this week, I wouldn't be surprised if Twisters has a good hold due to word of mouth.

I saw it Monday with my wife.
It was good, but better than twister?
Not to me, but I'd say it's almost as good.

I won't spoil it but the huge tornado at the end was pretty chilling.
Solid 8/10.
