Drama "F1" Formula One Racing Film (Brad Pitt & Joseph Kosinski)

Tickets secured! I'm going with a friend who's a huge racing fan, so I'm fully expecting her to nitpick and explain the racing aspect to me afterwards :funny: Maverick was a spectacle in Dolby, I hope this one is as well

Trailer looked great on the big screen, very Topgun Maverick in cars, its going to be a treat visually, just depends if they can get an interesting enough story to go with it, which is quite often the problem in sports films.

The Tate McRae video is pretty awesome. Ummm… for the cars, of course.

saw the trailer for this when I saw Ballerina this is a movie that has to be seen on the big screen I am really looking forward to it

F1 doesn't come with many surprises, but it's just so, so well made and exciting. Joseph Kosinski has pretty much mastered the commercial, old-school blockbuster. The cast is excellent altogether, but I really enjoyed Damson Idris in particular. My favorite racing film remains Le Mans '66, but F1 gets pretty damn close.

Saw this yesterday and it was amazing.

While not on the same level as Top Gun: Maverick, the car scenes were still great and Brad Pitt was awesome as usual, evoking this cool aura he always does.

Oh, and his chemistry with Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon was phenomenal.

Can't find any faults to this. The perfect summer blockbuster and the WOM will carry it a long way. Kosinski just knows how to create the perfect package of likeable characters, action and a fun story.

This is a lot of fun and gets a lot right but there are a few more issues here than in Top Gun Maverick but the races are thrilling which is the main thing and what most are going for, the camera work and sound design are top level stuff, I can see this being pretty popular as a big summer spectacle movie. Kosinski knows how to make a film look good on the big screen thats for sure.

The story and script is a little clunky in places and cant avoid some of the usual sports cliches along the way but everyone is solid in their fairly straight forward roles. Pitt plays the main guy as an old school gunslinger to teach the new young upstart a few lessons and it mostly works with the banter between them, some plot points get lost or dropped along the way but doesnt really matter in the main scheme of the main plot.

Certainly one you will want to catch in the cinema as the spectacle is there to see on the screen. A few more passes on the script to tighten it up and it might have been even better and be able to justify the long run time. Still one film that certainly delivers this summer, can see it going over pretty well with audiences as there is enough charm and wit from the characters to keep the whole thing on track.

Yes, it's full of cliches.

Yes, it's predictable at times.

Yes, it's an absolute blockbuster film that is made for large format screens and should be seen in a theater. It's a super fun, thrilling time at the movies and a true crowd pleaser. I think WOM will be very strong with this one. I know people who haven't been to a movie theater in years and are going to see this.

If you love Formula 1 like me, you will love this movie. But even if you know nothing about F1, the movie does a great job of making it easy to learn about and understand the sport.

Just got back and really liked it, I don't know anything about F1 except a few names Hamilton and Andretti and some car brands. I didn't really know how much team work takes place in it and strategy. They filmed it really well and the acting delivered.

Ι didn't love it as much as Rush or Ford v Ferrari but I had lots of fun with it.

This is looking more and more like the mini-Top Gun Maverick of the summer.

Surprisingly this was a fun film to watch on IMAX. I thought Brad was decent in the role, I enjoyed the cast and the story. Kickass soundtrack by Ed Sheeran called “drive “ that is featured in the end credits.
