BUFFALO, N.Y. Authorities say 49 people died after a commuter plane crashed into a home in suburban Buffalo and burst into flames shortly after 10 tonight.
A state police spokeswoman said all 48 people aboard the Continental Connection Flight 3407 are dead. The local emergency control director in Clarence, about 20 miles northeast of Buffalo, said the crash also killed one person on the ground.
Continental Airlines said the plane was a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 operated by Manassas, Va.-based Colgan Air and was heading from Newark Liberty International Airport to Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
