DC’s plan to relaunch titles is a welcome ‘Crisis’ of ‘Infinite’ possibilities

So about DC Comics’ big plan to relaunch its superhero comics with new No. 1 issues, new costumes and new(ish) origins. I think comics scribe and Twitter addict Gail Simone sums it up best.

“It’s time for an adventure,” Simone tweets. “Yes, we are walking the high wire. But I suspect the view will be amazing. Come walk with us.”

I say why the hell not?

DC plans 52 first issues (yes, yet another numerical tie-in to the 52 Earths of DC’s Multiverse) with day-and-date digital distribution. It’s a bold move for one of the Big Two comic publishers. It’s also a move the industry and especially DC had to make. And this isn’t just because, as the USA Today notes, DC has trailed Marvel in market share since 2002.

I hate the changes in the Superman suit. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Usually is before lack of balance sends you plummeting to certain doom, but I digress.

The suit looks like it was reworked from that Wizard Ultimate DC version, only with something resembling a proper :super: as opposed to that 'Too-awesome-to-wear-an-actual-letter-on-his-chest' Kingdom Come backslash crap. But that's about the only thing that I find remotely intriguing about this.

Never mind the rest of the DCU...ANOTHER reboot for Superman, DC? Really? Already? What is this, the twelth time in as many years that we've had to Introduce The Man Of Steel To A New Generation? They've turned Kal-El into the Phil Connors of the DCU - I swear, if we see Ned Ryerson rushing up to Clark on his way to the Planet trying to sell him life insurance, it would not surprise me one bit at this point.

I wonder how the current legal battle will affect Superman's new look for the movie.

i dont like the new suit. the sooner they realize its a mistake and get back to the classic look, the better.

Thank god i stopped reading Superman comics a long time ago...
