As we all know, DC are relaunching their comics! The new 52.

And as most probably know, some things are going to be different and some things will remain the same.

The question is, what effect will the relaunch have on future DC movies? It's too early to tell really. Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern have managed to get their movies going in time, not feeling the effects of the relaunch (Perhaps Superman costume has though in a way?).

Anyway. It's too early tell what will happen, and it's too early to tell if any of us will hope and get things from the past comics, cause it may ALL be from the relaunch.

Let me leave you with this though.

Should we get the Robin from the past in a movie [Dick], or the Robin of the present [Damien]?

Most off the time the movie equivalents are mash-ups from their most iconic portrayals in the comics. Atleast they should be...

For example, if we ever get a Robin, they could name him Dick or Tim, but give the character traits derived from three Robins.

I'm positive it wouldn't be all from the relaunch. Like every other comic adaptation that's ever been made, the directors and writers tend to take from the entire history of the particular character on which they're working. If future directors and writers feel that the relaunch contains some good ideas, I'm sure they would use those specific ideas for the films that they make.
