I was unimpressed by the first teaser. The first trailer was a huge step up and I loved it, but you can make an amazing trailer for a disappointing movie. I still had my trepidations up until recently. To be honest a part of me is still nervous.

Pretty much every Superhero movie has glowing twitter reviews to start with, even MOS had glowing twitter reviews, though one exception to this was TASM2

This is how you tell the difference between legit and illegitimate glowing reviews/tweets.

If lots of people say it's one of the best Marvel movies then it's legit.

If most people say it's "great" without saying it's better than some of the best MCU movies then it's illegitimate.

I agree with this completely. I was so depressed after reading the AOU reactions because they were so all over the place. No one said AOU was better than TWS (which I believe is the new benchmark when comparing MCU films), but there are a few people saying they loved Ant-Man more than TWS. That's a very good sign. I noticed that in order to get a very good RT score, the film has to be fun. It doesn't have to be the most profound movie either. If the critics aren't enjoying themselves, it's easier for them to not like it. Guardians, Iron Man, and the first avengers were all fun. AOU, despite whether or not you liked it, is not considered a fun movie. Everyone is saying that Ant-Man is very enjoyable with a big heart, so I'm actually predicting at least an 85%.

It feels like Ant-Man is a bit of a fresh air in the MCU after this big, explosive, interconnected films we had lately. I don't mean that in a bad way, is just that everything became so complex since Iron Man that this smaller-scale film (no pun intended) comes in just the right time. Like a separate chapter, but the premise of it is so interesting and there's so much than can be done with it, that I feel is a sure winner.

After seeing the film I'd be really surprised if it goes any lower than 85%. I honestly would be be surprised if it ends up in the 90's

I'm guessing the 80% range. Daredevil will likely remain the MCU 2015 champ unless Jessica Jones beats it, but I expect Ant-Man to be the highest rated MCU film of 2015.

I'd rank it on par with Guardians and Winter Soldier honestly. It is funnier than GotG and the action is just as good (if not better) than TWS. One of my fave MCU films for sure
